Ive had lots of macarons but never fatcarons, let alone fatFATcarons. Theyre basically macarons with a huge ass filling.

🥥 Ondeh Ondeh (7.2/10)
Comes with coconut cream and a little slice of cake inside. Its pretty sweet but theres a nice fragrance of coconut throughout the whole macaron.

💙 Blueberry (7.2/10)
The fresh blueberries were delightful, though most of the macaron tasted like a regular vanilla macaron.

🍓 Raspberry Pistachio (7/10)
The most unique macaron, I liked the nuttiness of the pistachio cream and the thick raspberry ganache.

🍋 Double Citron (6.7/10)
I find this one to be a bit too sweet cuz of how thick the fillings are. It has a sour and tangy flavour but perhaps it could substitute the icing fillings with something less strong in flavour so its less jelak.

The pistachio colour looks a bit off…. So maybe it wasn’t fresh. But still tastes good, not too sweet. Worth it with the burpple deal ~ do make sure to check the opening hours. Shop was open on a Tuesday but was unable to redeem the deal because of the opening hours listed on burpple.

Launched in March is the Korean Dacquoise, the newest Korean dessert trend, which is made up of a sponge-like biscuit dessert made from almond meringue layers that are filled with flavoured cream. Known as the sister of macarons, the Dacquoise is less sweet but made with the same ingredients and preparation methods. They come in a box of 6pcs ($15.80) or 12pcs ($30.80) with flavours such as chocolate, strawberry, yuzu, sesame, pistachio and hojicha.

Haengbok Cakeyo is known for their Fatfatcarons aka Korean Fat Macarons and bento cakes with unique flavours such as Ondeh Ondeh, Double Citron, Raspberry Pistachio, and the Savoury Garlic Ham & Cheese, which you can get in a set of 4 pcs at $19.80. in addition, Haengbok Cakeyo has Korean bento cakes that you can get in flavous such as Milo Dinosaur Mini Chiffon Cake ($9.80) and Yuzu Mini Chiffon Cake ($9.80).

In celebration of Haengbok Cakeyo’s first anniversary in the month of April and the launch of the Dacquoise, the store will be giving away a set of 6pcs Korean Dacquoise with a minimum spending of $30 on their online store (link below) from March 14 to April 10.

Finally managed to try the fat macarons from Haengbok Cakeyo! These chunky bois are going for a box of 4 for $19.80 and while it does sound pretty pricey, it’s actually super worth it because each macaron is damn thick! Can foresee myself eating this again 🤤

They now have a store at the recently opened Eatbox! Am not a BTS fan but these are freaking cute. And not just gimmicky, they tasted good too.

Not just gimmicky macarons. These taste good too. A little on the pricey end ($12.80 for a stick) but pls la look at the details. If you can make it I’d also pay you $12.80.
