[CLOSED] Horizon Bistronomy (Alexandra)

Perfect for those Treat-Yourself-Fridays, Horizon Bistronomy's Pasta/Risotto Lunch Set offers a choice of starter and iced tea alongside their carb-centered mains. A steal of a deal really, I was entice by their selection of risottos and was glad that I gave their Seafood Risotto (Ala carte: $20++/ Lunch set $17.90++) a go. Presented with plump mussels, a chunk of fish (salmon), grilled prawns, a bed of vibrant saffron risotto and a good dose of parmesan shaving on top; the dish was simply delightful. The addition of lobster oil also reminded me of a light lobster bisque risotto and the creamy overtone of the grains was able to highlight the sweetness of the crustaceans. However, there can be a considerable waiting time for your food.

Surprisingly, portion was reasonable and it taste pretty good. Pasta is totally infused with the laksa gravy and it’s so delicious! We couldn’t stop surppping these pasta! We have had ones that were either too marshy or so al dente we found it too hard to digest. However, these guys here did it just right for us, thick, consistent and still having a good bite to the risotto.
In fact, this hot seller dish of theirs was cooked in saffron with a generous serving of fresh seafood. Particularly loved the grilled prawns that were so wonderfully charred, biting into the heads would taste the awesome umami-ness.
Liked how their staff would joke to us that they couldn't always enjoy atas fine dining food, so they would want to create dishes that would look and taste as good but at a more affordable cost. Kudos cos we think they're achieving what they set out to do.

French-inspired cuisines and they were modern, beautiful and tasted wonderful. We tried 4 dishes and were absolutely satisfied with all of them.
This was their grilled octopus, slow cooked for 6 hours before a crispy charred finishing upon serving. Very tender and tasty. Loved the ginger-tomato purée that was tingling spicy, even the potatoes were cooked with duck fat. Every element on each plate came together well and we could taste that it was prepared with heart. Lots of efforts went into the plating to make them beautifully appealing.
Staff was certainly friendly. They shared that a 3rd outlet (located in Tanjong Pagar) would be opening soon.

Homemade Seafood Aglio Olio ($28++)

I've had some pretty soggy homemade pastas, but this was the right texture. Yum!
