Here I have the popular Chilli Crab Meat in Da Bun from House of Seafood that was featured on Channel 8’s “Old Taste Detective 2 - Chilli Crab Episode”!

First off, this dish is perfect for those who hate the hassle of peeling crab meat from the shells, as all the meat is de-shelled and wrapped up inside the bun with the chilli crab sauce! Taste-wise, the sauce is a nice mix of sweet and spicy, and is generously filled with crab meat too! The bun itself has a crusty exterior while the interior is soft and fluffy. Best way to enjoy this is to dip the bun into the chili crab sauce and eat it, definitely a winning combination! Pro tip: the overall taste is even better if you toast the bun, trust me on that! Lastly, this dish is good to share amongst 3-4 pax.

There are 7 flavors available (all the Buns come with a warmer bag worth $5):
~Chilli Crab Meat in Da Bun ($28.80)
~Salted Egg Crab Meat in Da Bun ($28.80)
~Black Pepper Crab Meat in Da Bun ($28.80)
~Curry Chicken in Da Bun ($18)
~Mala Chicken in Da Bun ($22)
~Mushroom in Da Bun ($18)
~Musang King Durian in Da Bun ($28.80)

Islandwide delivery is available, order yours at: https://houseofseafood.oddle.me/en_SG. Do note that a pre-order of at least 1 day in advance is required as they are freshly hand-made to order.

Hey guys, check out this amazing 🦀 promo from House of Seafood!

From now till 30 June 2021, purchase any 600g Guaranteed Meaty Grade A Crab for $58, and you can just 𝐓𝐎𝐏 𝐔𝐏 $𝟏 for another wildly caught GRADE A crab that is big and meaty (worth $58)! Plus, there are up to 100 flavours of Crabs for you to choose from! 🤩

That said, here’s what I had for lunch earlier with my family:

~Signature Black Pepper Crab
~Chili Crab
~Pork Ribs w/ Chef’s Special Sauce
~Crispy Beancurd w/ Chef’s Special Sauce
~Homemade Prawn Rolls
~Mee Goreng

Both versions of their Sri Lankan crabs were delicious! They were really fresh and meaty as well! But if I had to choose a favourite, it would probably be the Black Pepper Crab, because in terms of flavour it had a slight edge over the Chili Crab. Other favourites from this selection are the creamy Pork Ribs w/ Chef’s Special Sauce and the Mee Goreng, which had a good spicy kick!

If you are keen to order their food, you can check out their pages (FB/IG) for more info. Self-collection or delivery is available.

I ordered Prawn in Salted Egg Yolk sauce 中 Medium $28. Came 7 small pieces of small prawn about the size of a credit card each. That works out to $4 / small mini prawn. Called to feedback and they say it is the season now. Seriously?

Consider celebrating joyous occasions at this lively restaurant in The Punggol Settlement. Have a feast with an array of 1-for-1 Small or Medium dishes such as Wok Fried Prawns with Fragrant Butter ($22, small), Stir-fried Lala with Sambal ($14, small), Lychee Sweet & Sour Pork ($14), Sauteed Deer Meat with Ginger & Spring Onion ($18, small) and more. This childhood dish is always so expensive despite just using canned trotters. Got this cheap at a food fest.

I’m not usually a fan of curry dishes, however this one took my fancy. The crab is soaked in the sauce that was flavourful and the curry was not overwhelming or too milky so you could still tastes the fresh crab meat. If you’re looking for a very spicy curry dish, this is not for you. The curry was not overly creamy but it had enough flavour that infused the crab meat unlike most of the other crab dishes where the crab was merely tossed in or drizzled over with sauce. Out of all the crab dishes we tried, most of us liked this the most.
