The restaurant called @joomaksg. Located at level 4 Beauty World Centre, it’s offering Korean bbq and Korean dishes.
I ordered their the 3 portions comes with 2 black pork belly, 1 black pork collar, rice and soybean soup.
The black pork collar is tender compare to the pork belly.
💰$69+
Value for money with generous portion.

Visited on 3 July 2021 after 2 failed attempts in 2020 as the queue was so long at night that we had to give up and ate sth else
Was craving for jajangmyeon and this restaurant came up in a few articles so have been wanting to try but was rather disappointed. Perhaps because it is fried with pickled vegetables, so it left a sour taste in your mouth after each bite.
Kimchi pancake was crispy at the edge but mushy in the middle… towards the end we only ate the edges
However, we noticed that most ppl were having kbbq as their staff will help to grill the meat at your table for you. Perhaps that is their specialty instead but not sure if I’ll go back to try that…
Nonetheless, sides were vvv good that we requested for extra servings.
We evidently over ordered for 2 pax, spent ~$32 each

Had Korean food on a rainy day at @joomaksg. We had jajjangmyeon, seafood pancake, sundubu soup and fried chicken. Everything was pretty good but what we were impressed with was the garlic soy chicken because of how crispy the chicken was and how tasty the sauce was 😋

Jokbal is a korean dish made by braising pig trotters in a sauce consisting usually of soy sauce, spices, garlic, ginger and rice wine. It is slow cooked to allow the meat to absorb the flavours and until it becomes fall off the bone tender. The meat usually tasted subtly sweet with a nice rich aftertaste. A good jokbal is one which has managed to the gaminess of the pig trotter and infused the complex flavours of the braise into the meat.

I think texture is an underrated component of asian cuisine and this is one of the dishes where the texture really shines. The tenderness of the meat, the luscious fat layer and the gelatinous skin combines to enhance the 口感 (literally mouthfeel) of this dish.

The food at Joomak is good and homely. Portions are a little on the small side but I will recommend their pancakes and jajangmyeon!

Cosy little restaurant at the rooftop of beauty world. The seafood pancake has a nice crispy exterior but bite into this and be impressed with the slightly softer texture with generous bits of seafood filling. Must order dish when you are here.

Suddenly had cravings for Jjajang Myeon and decided to pay my favourite korean restaurant a visit! At $12, the portion is really big, can barely finish the whole bowl and I am a normal eater. The Jjajang was sweet and savoury at the same time, rich and fragrant but not too sickening till the end. Think its more meant to be shared such that you can try other yummy dishes the restaurant offers. As usual, the side dishes were the best, boosting my appetite and luring me to be back again and again!

Located at beauty world centre in the vicinity of Ham Bao Bao and Buta kin, the eatery serves authentic, belly comforting korean food. Pictured is the kimchi stew. Thicker than soup with glorious spiciness. The kimchi stew is a must-order if you dine at joo mak. Served with loads of kimchi, tofu, pork belly slices, it is any kimchi lover's paradise. Remember to stir well as the bottom of the stew could get a little too salty from the added gochujang paste.

Despite the generous portion of egg and a bit of cheese on top, after it's all mixed the kimchi flavour still prevails easily. With the kick of their home made kimchi, it made for a really comforting kimchi Fried rice since it wasnt too greasy

Dk why it is cheaper than the ribeye by a bit, maybe cos the portion isnt as much but we couldnt Tell.

Again, it's only slightly Marinated as it should be with such a high quality cut of meat. More importantly, the slight sweetness and the aromatics really enhanced the fragrance. Recommended if youre not a purist

Btw the mushrooms were charred well and were so soft and juicy

Very well charred with loads of flavour, but was a tad bit tougher than i had wished since we unknowingly left it on the grill for a while longer(the bigger group cleaned up each meat within a minute)

Meanwhile the black pork belly 25+ was a huge step up from the normal pork belly. Even less greasy, more tender, with more clean porkiness, its no wonder the black pork is 66% more expensive lol. Definitely worth the extra price if youre in a mood to spend.

Came back the next day cos it's that good(i usually never go back to the same restaurant), also cos i forgot to snap a pic of the black pork belly lol

Very lightly Marinated, but with a surprising kick at the back of the throat that really caught me off guard

Was only given when we came at night.

The sauce had some ginger and onions if i rmb correctly, and my dining mates loved it enough to call for an extra portion of it. Simple but delicious

Slightly smaller in portion compared to the other pork cuts, but understandably due to the higher fat proportion. Its more than 50 percent fats, and results in a snappy texture thats impossible to resist for some.

Really liked the potatoes as well since theyre really toasty

Really glad that they know the quality of their meat here and isnt overboard with the marinade, unlike some other kbbq places that can be too sweet. Just a bit of sweetness to pair with the delicate bite, that's slightly more tender than the pork belly due to the lower proportion of Muscle. Since the meats here are cooked well the fats are all bouncy instead of soft or chewy, and thus all the cuts are of equal high quality and it's really a matter of personal preference of the fat proportion

Cooked perfectly albeit with a little less sear than the ribeye, it was fatty yet not overly greasy leading to a superb bouncy texture and impressive porky umami.

Look at the marbling and you should know youre getting some quality stuff. I was incredibly impressed with the sear when she flipped the meat over, and it lived up to the appearance by being really juicy and beefy. Very slightly chewy, but the quality is there and quite worth it for the price, and the fact that it's cooked to perfection for you

Pretty damn good. Super crispy like a deep Fried omelette, really eggy and seafood was fresh as well. The dipping sauce wasnt too heavy but a little spice might have been better. My friend commented that it looks exactly like the one he had in korea and i wouldnt doubt that at all

Deep, dark flavours in the sauce but it wasnt too heavy and there's a pronounced sweetness. Light and easy to slurp

Egg was slightly hard, Potato Salad was sweet.

Particularly loved the veggies, from the refreshing bean Sprouts and the crunchy greens to the lightly Marinated but spicy kimchi

P. S. Again, seems fitting that my first level 10post is a place good enough to warrant a return the next day

A very homely Korean restaurant that offers a HUGE variety of dishes for each category: hotplate, pancake, bbq meats, stew, noodles, etc etc. This was the large black bean sauce noodles ($25, good for 2 pax). It was filled with flavour and the sauce was appetizing, with a generous portion of potato, onions, prawns and squid.
