the soup was sweet-tasting and pleasant on the palate. not a fan of the noodle though, the texture feels factory-made instead of homemade as it was less qq than I wished it would be (feels more starchy!). the minced meat was well-marinated though, I liked the taste. overall, it's not bad but I wouldn't take the time just to come down and have this bowl of you mian again.

Much vaunted handmade noodles in Bukit Merah with purportedly long queues. I arrived at 12.30pm and was 4 in line. Lady comes down the queue to take your orders

Not very impressed as the mee hoon kway was not hand torn resulting in clumping together after cooking and they used Bok Choy instead of Sayur Manis. The broth was normal, chilli was very good and the ikan bilis was not crunchy. As you get to the bottom of the bowl, the Kway becomes more and more chewy. Portion is big for $4.

I did observe an act of kindness. The lady taking orders told an older customer not to queue, to go find a seat. She promised to deliver her order.

One of the best Mee Hoon Kueh I've eaten? Indeed. At $3.50, this bowl has a generous portion of the usual ingredients, and what sets this part from the rest is the soup as well as the noodles. The noodles are handmade, and they are nicely thick and chewy. The soup wise is flavourful and definitely very heart warming. This is something I will crave if I am around the area!

Don't be intimated by the long queue here at Lan Xiang Noodles 兰香麵粉粿板麵; the 10 people in front of me were served pretty quickly, & I got my food in 13 minutes (yes I counted!).

I was dead set on trying their Ban Mian 板麵 ($3.50 nett), but when the lady running the stall swiftly waltzed through the queue in front of me & took everyone's orders at lightning speed, I was influenced by the guy in front of me & ended up ordering what he did - Mee Hoon Kueh 麵粉粿 ($3.50 nett).

Whether it’s meesua or banmian, this is by far the best I’ve ever had - good tasty broth (might be a bit salty for some), runny egg, crispy ikan billis and the texture of the noodle is always done right (not too soggy or too hard - chewy enough!). Always my go-to for comfort food!

The you mian was springy, soft and flavourful. As for the soup, it was clear, robust, sweet and more importantly, it was not salty! Moreover, the minced meat was well flavoured and marinated! A very satisfying bowl of handmade noodles.
