The rib-eye was rather tough and sinewy, but at least this was only $4 thanks to #ubereats #burpple #burppletastemaker #snatch #ribeye #salad #lunch
One of their signatures and a must-try! A little bit pricey, but oh so worth it. The lobster meat has been (conveniently) scrapped out, mixed into a creamy concoction before being stuffed into the empty lobster shell and baked for a short while to brown the top crust. The cheesy mix really boosts the flavour of the lobster, but yet isn't too gelat so you can probably order this as your main (it's so good you wouldn't want to share). Super rich and creamy, you will find yourself scraping (in vain) the empty lobster shell for more.
The sheer volume of chestnut drama within the thick, ropey cream would more than excite a scurry of rascally squirrels, the cream possessing a matcha powdery bitterness which adds a zen, masculine edge to the proceedings and prevents you from getting all nut creamed out. Elsewhere, the pancakes had the dense fluffiness of one of them Chow Chows from the Holland Village Pet Lovers Centre. 4.1/5
Late to the party, but definitely not missing out on this! Lunch & Dinner buffet at $38++ for adults, even on special days such as Mother's Day. What more, we managed to get additional complements, cause Mum's are the best.
.
The best part of lunch – this decadent green tea brûlée for dessert. So rich and creamily luscious, the kurogoma ice cream sits in a moat of matcha cream peppered with toasted sesame seeds, enthralling us with its flavor.
Available from now till May 12 is a special four course menu [$38] by Chef Nakano Hiromi at Sen of Japan.

Ahhh bliss!!! Can't wait to go back this weekend 👅🦀🍝😋 #foodporn #eatoutsg #instafood_sg #sgfood #burpple #vscofood
Chicken is usually what I avoid ordering at restaurants as I find it boring compared to other more "glamorous" items like steak or seafood. So this wasn't my dish but I tried some of it and was very surprised at how good it tasted. In fact, the other two main courses of Crab Ravioli and the Mackeral Ala Plancha paled in comparison.
There are three things to note about this. Firstly, it's fancier than what its price point suggests and secondly, you must like mushrooms because there's a lot of it here. It is used as a stuffing in the rolled-up chicken breast, which happens to be tender and very moist. More of the delectable fungi, this time of the trumpet variety, is scattered all over, heralding a heady aroma. The creamy sauce that works with every element on the plate, is also full of mushroom. Thirdly, the big pieces of leek can (almost) give Burnt Ends' a run for its money, such is their astonishing sweetness.
Much hype has surrounded this new cafe player and it sure has lived up to mounting expectations. For those who've had enough of pricey, run-of-the-mill brunch fare, Populus might just be the solution to your weary palate.
The menu here is peppered with familiar brunch favourites given an interesting spin; take this French toast-inspired dish for example. Served in the form of a brioche bread pudding, the cloud-like milky pillows cranked it up a notch on the comfort food quotient. Thoroughly enjoyed this dish; each bite introduced a new dimension from its complex flavour profile -- a delightful zing (lemon curd and yuzu mascarpone), textural contrast (cornflakes crust and pistachio crumbs), and lingering headiness (red wine poached pears, and thyme-infused pure maple syrup).
Only Tuesday and already dying for a drink.
Humpback's Bloody Mary is bang on the money and what's even cooler is that you can customize it to your tastes. Choose from an exotic range of spirits such as parmigiano gin, mushroom vodka, etc, pick a base mixer along with other ingredients, pass the checked list to the waiter, then await with anticipation.
We picked a combination of horseradish vodka, clamato juice, celery salt, olive and prawn. Props to the affable bartender who gave us bacon instead of prawn but threw in the bacon anyway! Smooth with hints of heat but not unbearably fiery and full of umami, it was the perfect accompaniment to an already stellar seafood brunch.
Taste: 4/5
The generous portion of the happily-sized and uber-fresh seafood cubes will leave you in a state of suspended sashimi bliss and the pearly rice-to-seafood ratio was magical. Elsewhere, the marinate was a glorious cross between Teppei Syokudo's legendary (albeit occasionally eagerly salty) one and sweet teriyaki sauce. Priced at only $12.80, this astonishing marvel is destined for greatness. 4.5/5
Just like the Duo of Oven Roasted Tomato Soup and Leek & Potato Soup. Two very different flavours but when mixed together, the two soups complement each other perfectly.
Happy Valentine's Day & Happy 人日, everyone!!!
Tried this Red Velvet Waffle ($14.50) during our invited tasting at Montana - I'm not really a fan of gimmicky red velvet but I liked this princessy version from Montana. Not your usual cream cheese and red velvet pairing. The light and fluffy texture of waffle as usual, did not disappoint. Waffles were stacked and served with creamy strawberry shortcake ice cream, drizzled with perfumy white chocolate rose syrup. I actually liked the Rose syrup that reminded me of Bandung. Get this for a sweet ending to a good meal.
