Places To Try
The unatendon is the best of 2 worlds! The tempura came with one ebi, a meatball that is supposedly stuffed with cheese? 🤔, pumpkin, seaweed, mushroom, etc. Choice of white or truffle rice and original, spicy or yuzu pepper sauce. Truffle taste is nice but too light for me, and they totally forgot about my yuzu pepper sauce! 😅 They served it on the side afterwards, it’s quite diluted and more yuzu then yuzu pepper, but still worth a try!
Unagi has more bones then I like and it’s very heavy on taste, but overall still a good meal 😁
Are you a fan of Thai Basil Minced Pork Rice but you have always preferred noodles to rice? This is absolutely what I had been dreaming and craving for — Thai Basil Minced Pork with thick rice noodles; absolutely delicious where it comes with that signature savouriness of Thai Basil Minced Pork dishes laced with all the rice noodles and loads of chili padi for a piquant spiciness that's pretty shiok despite being more on the moderate scale. The long beans helps add a little crunchiness to the whole dish which makes it pretty wholesome overall.
This bowl is filled generously with all the minced meat and slices pork, allowing every bite to have a little of everything. (Cause we all know how much we hate to have just noodles, and lack of everything else). And while the bowl looked disturbingly red, as assure that there is a good mix of Chilli and vinegar in there, making the BCM will balanced! But the star personally had to be that singular huge meatball, making me wished that I had ordered extras.
From a stall named Famous Chicken Rice • Ipoh Hor Fun, House of Noodles at Holland Village Food Centre (don't be fooled by the plates!). A simple and affordable eat with slurpy rice noodles, a light and subtle sauce for a savoury flavour and slippery, smooth chicken to down. Definitely provided for that light heartwarming meal for lunch in the sudden downpour.
Their rice is dope! Even if its just plain rice.
Quite a generous serving of crisssspy garam masala fried chicken (chop). The accompanying ah ma noodles is skinny la mian and tasted like... kolo mee - seasoned with onion oil and soy sauce. It was nice but I won't be in a hurry to order it again - there are too many other things on the menu that I want to try.
I'll be honest and say reading the reviews about this cake was what got me interested in visiting CreatureS. This enormous slice of super moist chocolate cake is soooo lush. The 72% bittersweet dark chocolate ganache is incredible and the pink Himalayan salt sprinkled atop is just... 🤤 All this sitting in a pool of salted caramel sauce (delicious, but I could have easily done without) and served with coconut ice cream. Give. Me. Moarrr.
You can also order the whole cake for $96. My only question is... does it come with a tub of the coconut ice cream?
Tried Le Omm, not very strong matcha flavour but is alright for me (im not a big fan of matcha anyway). The cream is light so I can finish the whole piece after dinner.
Well, not quite the same.
My favourite dish of the lot was the Ebizo Signature Tempura Don ($18.80) which was generously piled with tempura seafood, egg and mushroom.
The pieces were crisp enough, and ingredients fresh.
While the savoury-sweet tendon sauce might not have been as impressionable as some of the popular stores in Singapore, it was appetising enough for me.

3 munchies: Between this and the Big Prawn Hor Fun (each priced at $16 for the smallest portion), I'd go for the 5-munchie latter anytime. The savoury-spicy broth was a tad light for my liking and lacked sweetness from the prawn shells, which was disappointing since the large prawns were fresh and succulent. Served with thick bee hoon and sprinkled with red cut chillies and fried shallots, it would have been a banging dish had the broth been more flavoursome.

Crispy bread skin, soft bread meat. The soup has a strong lobster taste! 😄
