Fellow Burpplers' food looks so good it made me want to try these so badly that I find my tummy growling thunderously!

The layers and textures in this iced apple macchiato is said to pay homage to Mount Fuji - do you see Mount Fuji in it?

An interesting combination of fruit juice and coffee, but a very good one. The apple juice was not as sweet as store bought ones, and had that distinctive refreshing sweetness of Fuji apples. That really brought the nutty, rich coffee to a new dimension. I would definitely have it again, you should too!

Super long queue for this kway chap (minimum wait 20 minutes, $16.50 for 3 portion) and $2 fried fish at lor mee stall is my kind of local brunch. So full that I can barely walk now.

Made a stop at this old-school bakery at Alexandra on Friday and was so, so elated to see two blocks of my favourite pandan cake still up for grabs. It sells out terribly quickly, so I lost no time in claiming them mine.

It's been ages since I last had this, but it is exactly how I remember it to be: immensely fragrant yet subtle and not overpowering on the palate; the crumb light, moist and cottony soft – I suspect far more so than any other pandan chiffon cake that ever existed or will exist – nearly dissolving involuntarily in the mouth as I chew.

And of course, while making my purchase at the confectionary, I had the thought in my head to photograph the cake on the Jamie Oliver board that @missmandyy just gifted me earlier in the week. 😊

Crispy and juicy even after close to an hour, 焱 Chicken wings should be one of the best chicken wings I have ever tasted! Neatly arranged and packed when brought in by my awesome colleague (who queued about half an hour), we couldn't resist the smell of those wings and they were gone within seconds!

Trademarks of good chwee kueh are the kueh, chye poh (preserved radish) and chilli. This simple dish can be hard to perfect but Jian Bo serves one of the best you can find. The kueh is smooth but still has a good bite to it, the chye poh is not overly salty, and the chilli is so very satisfying. It can get quite oily, but this dish is truly worth the calories once in a while, if the craving hits.

We visited them the day before their renovation. Nice, buttery croissant with tasty filling (curry chicken, egg mayo and smoked salmon with wasabi mayo). Not a bad eat but their coffee is better.

Not the normal prawn noodles that we have because it doesnt cook with pork ribs so it is lighter in taste. And just look at those roes in the king prawns. For 2 to share because i couldnt finish this by myself.

They did not cut back on the XO, making the broth super fragrant and heavenly. I just can't stop slurping. The fish slices are not slices, they are big chunks which are far more yummier to bite on. || Price: S$12/2pax

All-day economical bee hoon that was pretty damn good. 2 happy people fed for $7.90 and after 10 years the price of a plate of bee hoon remains unchanged at 60 cents. The bee hoon was cooked perfectly and I doused it with the sweet and sour chilli sauce. And the chicken wings, oh the chicken wings were to die for. Super crisp and juicy omg so so good. You have to try this the next time you're here, look for the stall with the long queue. This really is a Singaporean hawker institution.
Clearly working my appetite this labour day. What about you?
