Not sure which price is which but one was 8.41 the other is 9.34

Both have crunchy bases, the taste of pistachio is refleced strongly on the filling, with occasional crunch from the actual pistachio. The chocolate tart is filled with rich dark chocolage ganache.
Both tarts 4.25/5

Hope you're all having a good start to the week! Throwback to a beautiful Saturday at home over some cakes and tea with my lovely wife.
🔸
The four cakes pictured are lemon cream cheese and lavender crumble; chocolate praline with feuilletine and hazelnuts; banana cake with chocolate ganache; and lychee martini with martini soaked lychees.
🔸
These cakes are good. Both the sponge and cream are light, while the flavours are balanced. Will definitely order from them, maybe a whole cake for birthday celebrations next time.

Do you like it sweet or salty? I love the sweet one. In my opinion, the best tau sar piah in singapore. Buttery, flaky, crispy pastry w sweet bean paste filling. This is so close to my house but I only eat it once in a while >

Brought my parents here since they’ve been craving scones ever since we came back from a trip to England, and the scones here did not disappoint. These scones are light and fluffy on the inside but with a nice crust. They paired very well with the cream and homemade strawberry jam.

Apart from scones, the Devonshire cream tea set consists of:
- two sandwiches (cucumber and salmon for us) which were decent
- cake
- a pot of tea (I ordered Ceylon tea and it was from Dilmah).

At 11.50++ per set, this is the cheapest afternoon tea set I’ve had in Singapore and it’s delicious.

Arrays of cookie flavours, inspired by the diverse food cultures in Singapore greet you as you step in. Be wow by savoury cookies like Bak Kut Teh, Cereal Prawn, even Laksa while those with a sweet tooth can hit those Earl Grey, Gula Melaka, and Lavender Cookies. Each tin retails from $18.80 and will be a great gift especially for overseas friends!

And with CNY drawing near, we also get to indulge in their festive goodies! Such as Spicy Nonya Pineapple Tart, made with dried spicy shrimp paste and Orange Peel Pineapple Tart, which has a refreshing citrusy flavour.

Once again congratulations to @ChefDanielTay and team on @OldSengChoong @CatandtheFiddleCakes flagship store opening!

The pastry was nice!! Filings was quite good. Just a little spicy

I tried their Cheddar bread (the block looking bread in the picture) @ $6. It was very delicious and fresh! The place is more for takeaways as there is limited sitting. Deco is very nice! I also tried their Chai Latte however it didn't click with my tastebuds as it was too sweet for me. Their croissants certainly looked tempting but I'll try that another day...place accepts cash and NETS.

This artisan bakery is located at Serene Centre which is at Bukit Timah. The sourdough is extremely HARD but the toppings on top is delicious!!! The Hummus Za'atar EVOO toast is so good. You could see that they spread a generous amount of that on top of that sourdough and it is so creamy. The Sage Cream Cheese Berry toast was good too. You can also see they spread a generous amount of cream cheese on the sour dough as well. Just a wonderful medley of sweet and sour. Please do not order the Coconut Cold Brew though. So bitter and.... yuck. lol

The donuts are soft and do not taste fried and oily like most donuts do. The filling are also not too sweet and goes really well with the dough. But the prices are a little too steep.

Cream cheese donut ($3.20) is a much bigger piece as compared to the Raspberry white choco ($2.70) which is smaller than a palm size.

Located just outside Royal Square at Novena, there's a mix of some things new and familiar here and it is split into breakfast and legends bagels. You can even choose the type of bagel you'd prefer, such as seeded, salt and all-sorts - which I'd assume includes a little of everything - to go with your selection.

The Lamb is part of the breakfast bagel menu and it includes a pamb patty, cheese melt, fried egg, greens and hollandaise sauce. I like that the lamb isn't so gamey, while the rest of the bagel helps to counterbalance any strong tastes whatsoever from the meat. It can be quite a mess to eat this because of the egg ane sauce, but this would make do for a wholesome and hearty meal for any time of the day. 😋

From the legends bagel menu, I tried the Primal with which you'll find smoked brisket, house pickles, peppers, onions, cheddar and mustard barbeque sauce. This does feel like the healthier option of the two, and the portions of meat and veggies are generously spread, providing a thoroughly balanced flavour as well as a good range of textures. I did find it a challenge to eat this because it is really huge, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless.

Whether you'd like a laid back outdoor dine-in option (seats are relatively limited though, but there are seats just opposite the branch as well) or a nice takeaway option with good portions, Two Men Bagel House is definitely an ideal place to satisfy your hunger pangs should you be hanging around Novena.
