Fusion Menu

Benedict (poached egg with creamy cheese) on in-house crab cake (texture a little like hash brown but more seafood creamy taste) on sour dough. Sided with some salad veg. $20. Good creamy egg as breakfast.

Should be better in terms of flavour. Ordered this dish because of good reviews. However, when taking a bite, the taste of food was overpowering. Had to dabble with egg to balance out the flavour of pulled pork. To put it simply, it was salty. Cost: $20

pork collar barley risotto ($20++) - 3/5 💗
• fried vege was super yummy & sauce was
flavourful
• didn't really like the texture of the risotto (bec they use actual barley grains which didn't actl click for
me when ordering so that was my fault). however my friend q enjoyed it!
• found the pork collar a tad dry & tough. could use a little fats but you would like it if you're a fan of leaner cuts!

nachos tater tots ($12++) - 3/5 💗
• not soggy but wasn't super crispy
• generous serving of sauce & tater tots
• abit jelak after awhile
• nothing new

honey paprika wings ($13++) - 4/5 💗
• nicely fried & crispy
• honey was a great combi to the savoury dish. would have loved to have a honey dip on the side too!
• v generous portion, possible to split among 3-4 pax

lychee rosewater cake ($7.50++) - 4/5 💗
• sponge was a tad dense with a strong rose flavour
• i didn't fancy it too much because of the rose flavour & cream but my friend thought it was pretty yummy
• not too sweet! & had some refreshing bits of lychee flesh/pulp between the cake layers

overall bill $63 after ++; most dishes were abit of a miss for me this round, esp for the price.

hopefully i'd pick better next visit! 🎀

this looked amazing i was vv excited to dig in! it had chunks of salmon, clams, and 3 prawns in a creamy stew which tasted incredible w the sourdough. the portion was huge too! my only gripe is that it tasted quite one-dimensional so it got kinda boring after a while. still a p satisfying meal though, i think would be much better if i had shared with someone else

my friends had the bacon & mushroom truffle cream linguine and beef cheeks with barley risotto

i rly wanna come back for brunch one day to try their shakshuka!! they have a 1h dining limit though so might not be the best place to chill esp if you’re coming during peak hours

Iced honey chamomile was very refreshing and light with a hint of lemongrass

One of the best cafe matcha lattes ever. EVER. The matcha taste isn’t overpowered and it’s very very creamy and rich, matcha lovers would love this.

My third time trying this and unfortunately the pulled pork was a salt bomb this time round. The other components were executed as per usual. But the pulled pork was sooo salty and more heavy handed with the spices, you can kinda see how it’s really dark in the pic. But it’s really soft and i’m sure if they dialed back on the salt it would be delicious. My friends who visited on the same day as me also had the same sentiments so maybe it’s just a bad day

Second time getting this and still love it as much! The crab cakes are flavourful, a little bit of spice and sweetness of the crab and fried to golden perfection. The hollandaise sauce is not too heavy and coats the crab cakes wonderfully. Muffins were ordinary, not hard like Mcdonald’s. The poached eggs were just slightly over and didnt flow out, but I still enjoyed it very much.

Overall, aesthetic > food taste.
The pulled pork avocado eggs Benedict was quite good and they were very generous with the pulled pork. Never expected pulled pork to go so well with avocado.
The sando was pretty decent too. Definitely can’t go wrong with milk bread with patty & tamago.
Pasta was quite nice but pretty basic and nothing special to mention.
The honey&paprika chicken was pretty basic to me — not very sure why this is their specialty dish. Worth a try but found it pretty disappointing.
The eggs Benedict with crab cakes were the major disappointment — really taste like toasted frozen crab cakes that were of lower quality (rly didn’t taste good). My friend likes crab cakes and was kinda insulted.
Not in picture: ordered the coco Pandan waffle & had easily the worst waffle of my life (I am a waffle fan so PSA: order at your own risk) although I’m hoping it’s a fluke.

The coffee here is pretty decent.
Vibes were nice & can understand why the place is popular. This cafe is also a little on the pricey side considering it’s location, but still reasonable for a popular cafe.

Is it age but the year end festive feasting and catchups that actually transpire to burpple posts have been very difficult to keep up with… but here is one over a nice Sunday.
Lola’s was a go to when I was 18 and 10 years later the cafe soldiers on with delicious brunch fare. My sweet waffle was crisp and light with the gratifyingly rich chocolate nama that melts as you dig in, acting like a thick spread to complement the berries and waffle. Then if you’d like to have a ferrero rocher taste the hazelnut ice cream does the trick.

As I begin to be more aware of coffee and beans recently, I got a black coffee with the seasonal beans from luliroasts. The decision felt like a quick win (paying just 50cents more) the minute the palate tasted the described notes of this roast.

Loved this grain bowl, which features a base of grainy light quinoa, sprinkled with Japanese furikake seasoning, crisp spring onions, and roasted sesame dressing. The result is a grainy salty savoury spice sweet nutty flavour.

There's several garnishes, including wobbly soft hanjuku tamago / soft boiled egg with eggy sweet salty flavour, crunchy firm sautéed baby corn with vegetal sweet salty spice flavour, and creamy soft avocado with vegetal grassy earthy sweet flavour.
.
The star is the large boneless fillet of salmon fish, tender flaky moist in texture, with robust meaty salty savoury sweet smoky flavour from the generous miso glaze. So addictive.

This is among the best renditions of Avocado Toast around.
.
Over a base of crisp porous sourdough bread, is stacked a generous portion of juicy chewy 6-hours smoked chipotle pulled pork, chunky smashed avocado, wobbly lightly poached eggs, creamy hollandaise sauce, crisp red radish, and a dusting of paprika powder.
.
Cut into the eggs, and the beautifully runny yolk coats everything. Has combined bready sour meaty savoury sweet salty vegetal earthy eggy spice flavour.

Named after Jamaica's national bird, where this dessert was created, this is a delicious fruit and spice studded cake.

With a lovely moist soft spongy texture, the cake is generous studded with chunks of ripe banana, pineapple, golden raisins, black raisins, and flavoured with vanilla and cinnamon, topped with rich cream cheese frosting.

Delicious and decently huge portions. Worth a try! Beware of the long queue!

Freshly fried crispy tater tots! These were perfectly seasoned and went really well together with the nacho cheese. Best eaten while it’s hot bc the tater tots could get a little soggy after awhile. The portion was also super generous so it’s best to share with a group of friends!

This gluten-free cake was a tad bit on the dry side and could get rather cloying after a few bites. It tasted better when eaten together with the cookies & cream ice-cream.

The miso salmon was cooked to perfection it was sooo tender & flavourful. Along with quinoa and topped with charred baby corn, hanjuku egg, avocados and roasted sesame dressing, this hearty bowl was truly nutritious and delicious.
