With ricotta and apricot. Very good in its simplicity, but slightly overrated, since it's just carrots. Much of the magic was in all the ingredients that made up the dish.

With cabbage and apple puree. I felt this was a microcosm of Maggie Joan's. The centerpiece here is the pork, but better was the cabbage, which was charred, tasty and just not how you know veg. Yes the pork was interesting, with a very dense texture and a clean taste, but it's not showstopping.

With asparagus, peas and some purees. Lamb was well spiced and crusty, but texture and taste were average, unlike good lamb.

The tempura was just a leaf, so it's understandably just a leaf, but the taramasalata on it was mind-blowing.

Had the 3 course lunch set with 2 ala carte order.
Had the chicken sandwich and did not really fancy.
My fav dish was Shiso tempura and earl grey poached pear+pistachio+ honey ice cream

Might not return again.

We checked out Maggie Joan's after hearing good reviews of the food after Chef @seumas_smith took over the kitchen and started serving modern European cuisine. And indeed we were mostly very pleased, as I liked the foie gras ganache, hamachi crudo, scallops in miso beurre blanc (must order), and this dessert.

Our server said every guest liked this dessert ever since it was launched, and it's easy to see why. Fresh strawberries from Japan were sitting on a bed of rhubarb and white chocolate crumbles. That mix of textures worked very well, with the buttermilk ice cream working harmoniously with the delicately sweet strawberries that weren't sour at all.

The 5 course tasting menu is $90++, while an 8 course option goes for $140++. We did ala carte and spent $150.66 for two person, and we had more than enough food that kept us very happy.
