Nothing better than an Uber fluffy Tau sar pau with generous fillings and a strong tea .

So glad that the paus here are fresh and hot .

Disappointed again with the dry pau texture.

It’s never the same as the standards at the nam Kee Valley point branch - where the paus are freshly made and steamed and so fluffy and fresh .

I figure the ones at their other outlets are not as fresh .

Tea is at 60 cents from 2 to 5 pm so not feeling so sore 😋.

Singapore high tea set for 2.20 🤣.

The Big Pau is not only big, it’s gigantic. Most of the customers seem to prefer the lamian noodles. The food is not bad, but not fantastic either. Their loyal customers don’t mind the long-ish wait at lunchtime - hard to understand since there are at least three ladies in the tiny kitchen.

Thanks to my predecessors I'm aware of the overflowing juices and was averse to cutting it in half immediately. However even after sucking it (what I thought was) dry I still got my hands dirty as juices leaked from the bottom. Due to the onions the filling was really soft and full of umami. The bun was also fluffy unlike the lotus one. Btw this thing is really massive and it's a meal in and of itself

Solid and slightly stiff pau but not too bad. The filling is rather viscous but not too sweet. Quite lovely

First time trying this traditional handmade pau made with an authentic recipe from JB, Malaysia.
It was filled with tasty lean meat & pau’s skin wasn’t dry either. Both my big pau & siew mai were towards the sweeter side.

Skin thickness is just right, filling is generous, slightly on the sweeter side

These siu mai are at the sweet side. $0.80 each

A quick, simple, satisfactory tea break at Orchard. The Mee Hoon Kuey is flavorful and yummy! $3.50

Nam Kee 大包 is 👍🏻

$1.80

My favourite pau!
