if you prefer less sweet sambal and a runny yolk, the nasi lemak ($4.50) here is the one for u! both fried chicken and coconut rice are comparable
[Changi Village, Singapore 🇸🇬]
Set 5 (S$6)
Coconut flavoured coconut topped with fried chicken wing, otah, fried egg, bagedil, ikan bilis, sambal.
Interesting there’s lots of crispy bits in the ikan bilis.

i liked that basmati rice was used!! makes this nasi lemak a little more unique. chicken was crispy and juicy too. but the sambal was sooo sweet literally 0 spice which is q a disappointment
From Mizzy Corner
Beef Rendang Set delights with tender beef, crispy ikan bilis, fried egg and signature chilli paste, harmoniously balanced in a flavorful and spicy culinary experience.
This lives up to the hype. Especially loved the fluffy basmati rice, as well as the uniquely sweet and savory blend of the chilli.
However, it suffered a resounding defeat by International Muslim Food Stall today after trying both side-by-side. For starters, the basmati coconut rice was lacking in aroma and flavour, while the sambal was too sweet for my liking. Comparing both fried eggs, Mizzy Corner did not fare as well as the yolk was fried till it was fully cooked while International had a runny yolk. In terms of the fried chicken, both had its strong points, so none had any sort of advantage or leverage.

In the past, I used to prefer International before moving over to Mizzy Corner but having tried both International and Mizzy Corner again in a single seating, I guess I am back to the International camp. Particularly, both the basmati coconut rice and sambal hit the right spots today as the sambal is not too sweet and slightly on the spicier side, and the accompanying fried egg had a runny yolk to complement it. The fried chicken has always been good, so there is nothing wow about it today if you have it fresh off the wok.

People always fight over which nasi lemak is better at Changi Village Hawker Centre. My top contender is Mizzy Corner but it’s a hard fight, I really like the others too. This one is from Changi Famous Nasi Lemak which is ironically not as famous as Mizzy Corner or Old School Canteen, but it’s not bad eh. I got the 5th set which is the largest and cost $5. Portion size was good, chicken was Uber crispy, bergadil was sed so and otah did not have a strong fishy smell. Chill was also fantastic — sweet with a spicy kick and not too hot for my weak tastebuds. Only gripe is the egg. Was rubbery and it felt like they left it in the fryer and forgot about it.
The basmati rice has a nice coconut flavour while the sambal is of a sweeter side, hence if you prefer the spicier version, this might not appeal to you. The peanuts and anchovies are well fried and crispy, and I will usually add on a banana leaf otah to my meal. The only let down this day was the fried chicken as you can only taste the marinate on the crispy skin, beyond that, the meat inside is practically tasteless. It was probably an off day for them as I remembered how flavourful their fried chicken wings were in the past. Nonetheless, as this stall is around my neighbourhood, I will probably drop by at another time to check out the quality and consistency.

Chicken wing set (chicken wing, ikan bilis, egg): $3.50
Loved the super fragrant rice. Plus points as they use basmati rice so you can enjoy each grain instead of a large clump of rice like some other stalls.
Chili also was nice and sweet, but could have had more kick.
Had higher expectations of the chicken wing especially after tasting the rice, but felt that it was lacking in marination.
For just SGD3.50, you get a plate of fragrant coconut rice, a crispy chicken wing, a fried egg, ikan bilis, cucumber slices and a dollop of sweet & spicy sambal chilli.
Double the enjoyment by getting another piece of fried chicken wing! You won’t regret it...😉

They use basmati rice instead of white rice, the chilli is more to the sweet side type of chilli.
The highlight is the chicken. It tasted like Indonesia yellow fried chicken that cooked with tumeric.
💰$ 4-5 (coz I added begedil).
