Surprised to find this on the menu. They're quite proud of their Hong Kong heritage so the food's slightly different. Unfortunately it's one of the worst ee fu I've eaten, especially the mouthfeel.
Back again for the curry fish head! Never get tired of it, and also to try other dishes. Got the salted egg pork ribs and a different veggie dish this time, $60 altogether for 5pax! So glad the pricing has remained somewhat consistent over the past two years ๐ฅน
A rare zichar stall that sells both types of Hokkien mee. Also two types of chilli lol. As you can tell from the wetness it's typical of zichar dishes. So-so lor.
Finally the clean-tasting ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ณ๐ผ๐ผ๐ฑ ๐ฆ๐ผ๐๐ฝ was revitalising.
The ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ด๐ฒ and ๐๐ ๐ฅ๐ผ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ด๐ด were solid additions to the meal.
Those who prefer rice can opt for the The glorious golden gravy enhanced the flavours of the tender chicken.
Equally sublime was the ๐๐ฟ๐ ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐๐ป ๅนฒๆฒณ, which packed a stronger smokey aroma that was seductively scrumptious.
The ๐๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐๐ป ๐๐ถ๐๐ต ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ ๆป่ๆฒณ is a must order. The wok hei-infused flat rice noodles swimming in a viscous, eggy gravy were exceptional.
Nestled in an unassuming coffee shop in the heartlands, Hong Li Fried King whips up homely zi char dishes that are hearty and comforting.
Bottom left: curry fish head @ $28
Top left: sambal petai @ @ $12
Top right: yam ring @ $20
Bottom right: minced meat tofu @ $14
Back here again because of the curry fish head. It's really good and the gravy can be taken on its own without being too heavy or spicy. The other dishes are great too.
Busy on the evening of public holiday, luckily we made reservation for 6pm and it was already quite crowded when we reached. Had to wait abt 30-40mins for the food but worth it!
Sweet Yam with Gingko Nuts & Pumpkin (single serving - $4)
- really thick, smooth and creamy yam paste with Gingko Nuts & Pumpkin. it's quite warm after serving but it's quite sweet.
Stir Fry Chai Poh Kway Teow (S Size - $12) (pic 9)
- I felt that the noodles got really strong unique salty and wok taste tbh.
