Went to Obba Jjajang Express a few days ago and ordered their Frai Jjajangmyeob (8.50)!😇 Overall ratings 9/10 only because it wasnt hot when it came out, and the place was a little inconvenient. But it was soooo good and very filling😍 Taste wise is the same as the original outlet and would definitely head back again for other menu items!
Hawker franchise of the Tanjong Pagar outlet. For its price, nothing too special with regards to the broth or the noodles. Seafood portion was also pretty little. Overall, might try the other options but wouldn't order this again.
Take bus 901 (not 901M) from Woodlands Int and alight at the opp Woodgrove Sec Sch stop (refer bus route info) - bus-stop has a huge fenced light grey building right behind it which u have to go around it to reach/see the koufu foodcourt behind it - after alighting, turn to left to go down side of grey bldg on grassland. It's located next to drink store and order via kiosk (take a buzzer on right side & input buzzer # in order).
Didn't try a lot of JJM before but happy w this jiajangmeon $7.50 (+$1.50 for sausage which is just ok, abit dry & salty) and good portion for a full meal. Also got the corndog which is a pleasant surprise def will order again - very nice w soft dough ($3.50 - 1/3 cheese, 1/3 hotdog and middle is teokkbokki I think).
*Went during lunchtime and no queue
Springy noodles coated with tasty black bean sauce, and topped with gochujang, chilli for extra spicy kick (it’s not spicy for me).
💰$8.5

Tender, juicy fried Chicken Karaage goes so well with the udon that has a silky texture & toothsome bite while the broth has a pleaseant light flavour.

I tried,
Beef Bibimbap
Fill to the brim with a well-seasoned beef, kimchi, vegetables, rice & gochujang. There’s also a perfectly sous-vide egg atop, furnishing the rice bowl with silkiness.

I tried,
Salmon Mentaiyaki Rice Bowl
The mentaiko sauce absolutely hit the spot. Creamy with a savoury umami that went hand-in-hand with the salmon that is tender with a crisp exterior.

I tried,
Ebi Fry Curry
Fresh prawns breaded & deep-fried to a golden brown, boasting a meaty yet crunchy texture. The curry is equal part savoury & sweet.

I tried,
Saba Shioyaki (Side dish)
Grill to a light crisp, the mackerel manage to retain a nice amount of juiciness. The amount of salt use is spot-on and did well to highlight the mackerel’s natural flavour.

I tried,
Chicken Spam Fries (Side dish)
Mad love for these insanely spam fries that are incredibly crisp on the outside yet all soft, fluffy meatiness within.

I tried,
Army Stew Ramyun
The usual army stew might burn a hole in the pocket. Yet, this individually portion, gives the same soul-warming satisfaction from the savoury kimchi broth, chewy noodles & comforting taste of chicken luncheon meat strips.
