More Reviews of good food at New Station Snack Bar (Far East Plaza)

Found out bout this place by Word of Mouth and brought family along, lucky we reached at 530pm as the queue really start snaking after! If you are alone, can go for their rice sets below $10 ( about $8.30) but as we are a group of 5, we ordered:
1) yang chou fried rice
2) Teo chew Kway Teow 💯‼️ must get! prefer this to the fried rice!❤️
3) Salted Egg Pork 💯
4) Prawn
5) Hot Plate Tofu 💯
6) Garlic Dou Miao 💯
7) Sambal Kang Kong

not a lot of restaurants have this now.

must get! best item on the menu:)

✨Hidden Gem of Orchard with Rice Set less than $10 and 💯 Selling Wok Hey Tze Char Dishes since 1994‼️
💡 : Go early before the usual mealtimes even on weekends as there will definitely be a queue‼️

Well cooked, very mild there's no particular taste

Chye poh fried horfun. Quite a lot of wok hei, so overall pretty good

The salted egg pork sauce is diff from their other salted egg dishes sauce, which is more dry

This is more a cream sauce, with hints of salted egg and sweetness and very very strong spices, from the chili and the curry leaves.

Now I get why it's highly raved. But it's really more a salted egg kamheong cream sauce than proper salted egg sauce

Finally found myself near Far East Plaza and took the chance to head over to try this Salted Egg Pork Pork with Rice that I've heard so much good things about for such a long time. WORTH IT! Even after 30min the pork was still crisp and the store very considerately separates the sauce from the rice and pork, so they wouldn't turn soggy. The pork chunks themselves were lightly sliced and very tender, but with the sauce it was brought to a whole different level. Sweet, salty, and creamy, this really was a legit salted egg. 10/10 would go back if I was in the area again. $8.80 for takeaway and an added egg.

this place is still quite popular despite being around for several years. many customers were still ordering the popular salted egg pork rib rice. i think prices might have increased slightly to $7.50. still reasonable for considering it’s in town.

the egg was added on separately, worth it as it was still gooey which went really well with the sauce and rice. pork was tender and had some slight crisp around the edges.

the horfun was a good option as well. it came with seafood and had a good amount of wok hey.

A signature Malaysian stir-fry style that has a distinctive smell of curry leaves and dried shrimp. The clams were fresh and meaty and not sandy. It held on to the kam heong sauce and goes well with plain rice 》$15

Delicious and wallet friendly Cze Char Stall @newstationsnackbar within Orchard.

They have such a really wide variety giving me food dilemma as I wanted to try quite a number of items 😅

What I tried,

Thai Style Beancurd
This was very well done! Crispy on the outside, and full of flavour from a mix of sweet chili sauce and peanuts with thin and curled cucumber strips. Loved this!

The queue is rather long even when I was there at 8pm so be prepared to wait awhile.

What I tried,

Sliced Fish San Lou Hor Fun.
One bite and it screamed wok hey!! The hor fun was velvety smooth but retained a nice chewy bite with intense wok hey.
The slice fish is very fresh and QQ. Totally seal the deal.

One bite and I'm sold! Simply divine. Fork tender soft pork ribs fried till crispy, then slathered with buttery creamy salted egg sauce with a hint of curry from the curry leaves.
So rich and extremely flavourful but not overly creamy to the point that you will feel jelat. Oh despite is ribs, there isn't any bone! Plus point😘

This came bubbling hot in the claypot, and was a decent one too!

It was quite crowded when we went during weekend lunch, so be prepared to queue during peak hours if you're heading down! Mostly were hits, with just some small rooms for improvement here and there 🤭.

Oh I really loved the strong wokhei in their horfun!! Noodles texture was also pretty silky and fish was fresh, soft and tender!

This was slightly sweet (in a good way), and I liked that the chicken bites were pretty soft and tender. Great to pair with rice!
