With the Burpple Beyond, this plate only runs up to a mere $7. The real star of this dish is the meatballs actually, they were pretty well done, with chestnut cubes stuffed in them for that delectable bite. The portion is quite nuts as well, a considerable amount of pasta sprinkled with assorted minced meat. Certainly worthwhile for the price paid.

What a peculiar dish, probably the first time I’ve tasted notes of spiciness in a pasta that as other Burpplers have pointed out, is reminiscent to the kick of the Mala spice. And to be frank, that isn’t a bad thing at all, the flavour actually compliments your usual prawn aglio olio. The shape of the pasta, coupled with the crunchiness of the tiny tobiko pearls, gives it such a fun bite. This dish is unconventional and doesn’t break the bank, at only $18 with Beyond 1-for-1 making it just $9 a pop, it is certainly worth a try.

Truffle cream pasta with mushroom. Love the beautiful colours of the freshly made pasta! The truffle cream was light and fragrant with the smell of truffle. Mushrooms were well cooked as well!

However, my dining companions didn't enjoy their pasta so much. I guess the flavours are not that robust and intense. But still, an interesting take on the pasta!

Standard marinara sauce that tasted fresh and acidic (in a good way). The components of the pasta confused me though it just seemed like different components added together and they didn’t come together as one dish. Could’ve just gone with a classic meatball and spaghetti pasta. The red dyed pasta didn’t add much to the dish as well and some parts of it were clumpy. The pork belly and meatball were decent but nothing to shout about.

One of the sides that they offer is the bak kwa bread, which comes with the generous slice of thick cut, crusty bread loaded with their in house bak kwa jam and topped with fried shallots and spring onions. This was quite addictive but will get overpowering real quick as it’s quite salty but the crunch from the shallots was a nice addition.

Run by the same folks behind @thesaltedplumsg, @pastasupremosg is a fusion-pasta concept at @sunteccity, offering fresh handmade pasta with an unconventional twist. Other than ordering from a range of Haus Pasta that are specially customized, you can also choose to build your pasta with interesting ingredients such as Lap Cheong Crumble, Tobiko Roe & even Bak Kwa Jam?!?

An example of a hit and a miss. I must say their truffle cream pasta was pretty well-executed and certainly not a run-of-the-mill dish. However as for their "Chicken Rice" pasta, innovation was just not enough to impress me.
