You know how we always connect italian food with expensive high prices? But nope, not at @pocolocosg! A humble store that serves good italian food! We have to say that despite everything looking so simple, it is flavourful and delicious!

Especially for the Fettuccine Carbonara, despite it only having a little bacon, the cheesiness is just right on track! Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of risotto but this one isn’t way too mushy which is what i prefer, and with basic ingredients of mushroom to enhance the taste of it!

Located just a stone’s throw away from Novena Mrt Station, PocoLoco serves affordable Italian cuisine with reasonably big portions, using quality ingredients imported from Italy. You can get a full course meal here costing less than $100!

I enjoyed both the Manzo ($14.90) and Tiramisu ($8.50); the former is a pasta with beef in truffle cream sauce that was al dente and aromatic while the latter is a classic Italian dessert that won’t go wrong! The ambiance at their Novena outlet is very casual and relaxing too, which made the overall dining experience here a really pleasant one!

Panna cotta is a cream flan dessert originated from Italy. It is smooth, silky, and has a melt-in-mouth texture! The berry jam on it gives a slight tartness to balance out the sweetness from the flan. But don't worry, even if you eat the flan by itself, it is not very sweet!

Slightly salty (due to the squid ink) with a mild ocean flavour. But remember, do not order this if you want to look good on your date!

The risotto base was thick and creamy. Grains were cooked fill al dente, retaining it's bit firmness without being overcooked.

I remembered cooking my first pot of risotto when I was 13. Standing in-front of the stove waiting for the broth to be absorbed was no joke. From then, I started to really appreciate the hard work behind cooking risotto.

not an authentic Italian dish. It's true! However, this dish was created with the consideration that some Singaporeans do not eat beef due to religious believe. I like how PocoLoco's team planned and designed their menu to suit our Singaporean taste as well.
