One of the Best fried chicken I ever had, is served here at ponggol nasi lemak. Got consistency, its as good as its main branch at Kovan.

The chilli provided is also good.

To be opened since the 1970s, recipe must be good la, if not how to stay open so long and open branches and franchises, and can remain open is really testament to their craft and recipe.

Nasi lemak with fried chicken wing, otah, long beans and chilli. Fresh and flavorful, the chilli is not too spicy. They have several set meals too but none with both meat and veg. There was quite a queue at lunch time but it moved quickly like McD.

Fixed my Nasi Lemak craving at Ponggol Nasi Lemak. Set 2 ($4.70) comes with one chicken wing, sunny side up, ikan bilis and coconut rice. As usual, the rice is very fluffy and thoroughly infused with the fragrance of coconut milk, and it goes really well with the runny egg, crunchy ikan bilis with peanuts and spicy chilli. The fried chicken wing is crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside and so delicious.

I added two more sides: brinjal ($1.10) and ngoh hiang ($1.50). The brinjal looks like an unappetising black blob but it’s actually quite soft and tasty. The ngoh hiang is also surprisingly crispy and the minced meat filling is well-seasoned.

This is pretty much everything I need in a good plate of Nasi Lemak - craving satisfied!

fragrant coconut rice and egg was runny πŸ‘πŸ» chicken wing was very crispy but not fantastic as it’s rather small. chili was disappointing as it’s not spicy at all, rather on the sweet side

Heard this place sold one of the best nasi lemaks in Singapore. This was set 2 which came with coconut rice, sambal, fried chicken, fried egg and anchovies/peanuts. Added the brinjal for $1.10. Quite mediocre to me - sambal was normal, fried chicken is crispy but nothing special. And the portion of the brinjal is so sad for $1.10? Even the chai fan stall gives me more brinjal πŸ˜‚

Surprisingly, the ngoh hiang (not pictured) was the highlight. Crunchy carrot and jicama bits in the ngoh hiang made it taste fresh.

The fried chicken is the highlight.

The sambal chilli is also good.

But kinda pricey for nasi lemak.
