This casual gastropub still serves among the best classic British English renditions around.

Choose from a range of fresh deboned white fish, including haddock, cream dory, or cod. Coated in a thin crisp batter, the fish within remains moist and flaky, with sweet salty flavour.

The thick cut potato chips are fluffy with a dense bite, and carry starchy savoury notes. The warm mashed mushy peas have lovely vegetal earthy grassy sweet flavour.

I like to add a dash of sea salt and a splash of malt vinegar, for an added salty sour kick.

The Battered Cod Fish is the star of the Fish And Chips. Not oily, with a balanced thickness / thinness to the batter, the flaky soft moist chunks of cod fish hold beautifully delicate sweet savoury flavour.

I added salt, malt vinegar, and HP sauce for greater salty sour savoury sweet notes. So filling and value for money, yum.
