More Reviews of good food at Soi Thai Kitchen (Serangoon Gardens)

A decent Thai restaurant at Serangoon Garden with I’m surprised with the portion of basil pork given on the plate.

I actually finish my rice before the basil pork. Spicy enough for me to enjoy the meat.

The unanimous favourite dish of the night was one of their signatures - STEAMED SEA BASS IN CHILLI LIME ($29). The fish was fork-tender, and steamed in an appetising broth that had a good balance of sour, spicy & sweet ✨

Another average dish. It's not too bad but not too great either

Alittle bland and I prefer it spicier

Sorry I can't remember the name of this dish. It a prawn and squid dish in an eggy sauce. There are bits of chilli, spring onions and onion inside the sauce. I quite like this dish and I think the sauce goes well with rice. My only gripe are the prawns. They don't seem fresh as the shells are kinda soft and have stuck to their flesh.

Very yummy I recommend this because it's soft inside and crispy outside. They probably used a large amount of oil and strong fire. And that's what one needs to get a well fried egg.

$8 for a quartet of deep fried prawn cakes is decent value, and the value is boosted even further with just how sumptuous these prawn cakes are.

These large, plump prawn cakes are coated with a beautiful batter and deep fried to a gentle golden brown. The prawn filling within is moist, bouncy and downright delicious with a nice mix of spices and seasonings in the mix.

The only real gripe I had about these phat prawn cakes is that there isn’t enough of that sweet, tangy chili on the side to smother these prawn cakes in. Other than that, these prawn cakes were super seductive prawn stars.

Ordered the basil chicken rice, Thai style kai Kong and vermicelli Thai style. All the food we ordered were really tasty especially the kai kong. Food was spicy enough to be satisfying and not too unbearable. Portions were generous even for a big eater. Would recommend this place for lunch for those working/living around Serangoon gardens.

Savory and flavourful with a hint of sweetness. no pork 骚 taste at all! one of my must order at this place!

Forgot the price... it was either $6 or $7. Super spicy and delicious! would definitely reorder again.

This whets the appetite with a lovely fragrance, and the soft but not mushy texture of the sweet savoury rice is spot on.
.
Garnished with pineapple chunks, raisins, preserved pork sausage, chicken chunks, pork floss, cucumber, tomato, and cashew nuts.
.
The ingredients lend contrast of chewy crunchy juicy textures, with fruity vegetal sweet salty savoury nutty flavours. Enjoyed this.

This has a lovely fragrance. While the pork loin was chewy and slightly firm, the savoury spicy flavour is delicious enough to salvage this dish.

Best paired with beer.

The slices of fresh mango are tender and juicy sweet, pairing well with the rice. Satisfiying Thai dessert.

Authentic Thai street dishes at this casual heartland eatery.

The sea bass fish has tender, flaky fish meat, with a crisp, crunchy skin.
.
Glazed with a rich Thai chili sauce, this has sweet savoury spicy flavours.
.
The fish is largely deboned, with most of the small bones removed, leaving only the large, main bones within. Easy to eat, a good choice for communal group dining.

This is a simple but satisfiying dessert.

With stewed chunks of tapioca, tender and chewy in texture, coated in a fruity sweet orange infused sugar syrup.
.
The earthy sweet milky flavour of the blend of coconut milk and condensed milk is the main contributor of taste. Best shared.

Thai food that's affordable and good?! Definitely welcome in Serangoon Gardens!! This Pad Thai hit all the right notes with its balance of salty, sweet, and sour flavors, and the bigger portion is nearly enough for 2 (at $10 I'd say that's a steal)!!

My go to Thai comfort food whenever I need a pick me up: Basil Pork rice, with a nice Sunny-side up egg!
