Having been wanting to try but didn't have a choice as there usually is better option.

Finally decided to try and the M bowl is only $4.90++. A very good place to have your meal in a town around if you on a budget.

Even though is affordable, it is as delicious as those in a higher price restaurant of $10++.

Sukiya is the epitome of gyudon in Japan. There is nothing to complain about the quality and the prices of the gyudon. The huge selection of different sauces/meat parts makes every visit to Sukiya a happy visit!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Kimchi low carb gyudon @ $6.80

The photo isn't very impressive but the food is! So happy that they offer low carb version where they replace rice with tofu. And they also offer various size and portions, so that one can really have it at the portion that's suitable for them.

Everything tastes great and all components of the dish come together super nicely.

Will definitely come again with so much variety they have. Just that if want to eat in need to go at an odd hour cuz it's usually long queue. Otherwise have to takeaway.

Very average bowl of beef don with affordable prices and a homey taste. Quite dry without egg so add on for a creamier texture. Probably won't eat there again unless I am nearby :')

Did not get a chance to try this in Japan when I was on holiday there, but the Gyudon here at their Suntec outlet was yummy! Generous portion of fatty beef slices that were tender and flavourful, sat on a bed of piping hot rice. Comfort in a bowl indeed! I do recommend topping up $2 for the Green Veggies combo as the sauteed kang kong is so garlicky and shiok! For the combo, you also get to choose either a drink or miso soup. Lastly, there is no GST or service charge here too!

If you are travelling in Japan on a budget, your best chance for a cheap, satisfying and convenient meal is probably a gyu-don from one of their three chain stores: Yoshinoya, Suki-ya or Matsuya.

Most of us will probably associate gyudons with @yoshinoyasg who has been in Singapore since my teenage days. This changed recently with the entry of @sukiya.singapore which is the largest amongst the three in terms of the number of outlets.

Our personal favourite is their spring onion and half boiled egg gyudon. Thin slices of tender beef is simmered in their secret recipe sauce and served over hot fluffy rice and topped with fresh spring onion and korean gochujabg sauce. It is such a simple dish yet so delicious.

P.s. in case you are wondering, @matsuya_foods is my personal favourite amongst the three!
