Had a feast of some of the freshest, with my favourites going to:

- scallop sushi
- basil cheese salmon sushi
- all time favourite salmon belly sushi
- jumbo prawn sushi (amazingly tender)
- everything aburi!!

Tried also their fatty albacore tuna which was thick and not fishy. For the sushis here, most of the rice stayed firm, but some broke apart while you picked up too. A pity some items we were looking forward to were out of stock e.g. snow crab sushi. Sashimi slabs.

Ps. Do make reservations with their app, so you don't have to wait long.

Pps. Random fact that each sushi can only travel 350m before being discarded.

(About $100 for 4, and we didn't hold back)

赤貝 | あじ | いわし | 羽かつお | ジャンボ赤えび | えんがわわさび
Ark Shell, Jack Mackerel, Sardine, Striped Bonito, Big Red Shrimp, Wasabi Engawa

Roast beef sushi: 4/10
Salmon sushi (any of it - recommend the basil cheese one): 7.5/10
Salmon skin: 9/10 (very few pieces though)
Crepe dessert: 9/10 (super yummy)

Original outlet at Tiong Bahru is better in general taste - rate: 8/10.

Shaw House outlet: 6.5/10

Note: both has great service, ratings are for the food taste.

I used to be crazy for Sushiro when they had just opened its doors on our shores. I would dine here once almost every week. They offer really good affordable sushi, even better at Genki. They’ve got plates at $2.80/3.80/4.80 and also a good variety of cooked and side dishes. I’m always going for their fatty tuna!

I had tried it recently again since Phase 2 started and the seafood didn’t seem as fresh. Maybe they were having an off day or weren’t operating optimally due to COVID-19 restrictions or possibly because I dined in two hours before closing time (8pm at Isetan Scotts). I’ll probably try it again soon, just to check.

Nice selection and interesting menu. Try the chashu sushi and otoro!

Tried the cod roe with cream cheese and it was a bit odd. The flavours didn't complement each other as both were rich in flavour.
