Quaint cafe next to Gelenggang Park..quiet now cos we came at 10.30am. Had their salmon grain bowl which had mushrooms sousvide egg quinoa and barley reminiscent of a bibimbap. Tasty and healthy worth the price at $18. Finished off with their flowy matcha lava cake with had the matcha kick without being too sweet. Coffee was decent too

both the grain bowl and the chicken cutlet jjolmyeon was a refreshing twist, not to mention the thirst-quenching drinks as well.

A decent place for coffee and brunch food on a lazy weekend if you are staying around the area. The Aglio Olio ($17) is flavorful but it is more on the salty and wetter side. Prawns were fresh. Spicy level was very mild.

The Pork Cutlet Jjolmyeon ($18) was a disappointment. Sauce was oversweet and gloopy and did not go well with the noodles. Pairing it with the generous serving of pork cutlet was a weird combination since the crispy cutlet became soggy with the sauce. Really strange to have this Korean-fusion dish on the menu.

The iced mocha and grapefruit soda were decent accompaniments to our mains.

Service was good and the decor of the cafe is quaint and relaxing. However, it does get really crowded and noisy during peak periods (we were there at lunch time 2pm) and you may have to shout to your dining partner to be heard over the noise. Stay clear of the peak periods if you would like a quiet meal.

For: those in the neighbourhood, looking for a chill spot to get your caffeine fix!

Concurring with fellow reviewers - there seems to be a focus on aesthetic over taste. Also, definitely not wallet friendly!

Liquids: Lovely colossal espresso machine with well balanced espresso shot. Milk was not well frothed and (for the sake of the gram) the latte art was...absent. The cold brew was advertised at the counter and I couldn’t resist! It had a nice sweet aftertaste if you could get over the initial bitter bite - maybe the grounds were too old/ finely grounded? I would recommend perfecting your cold brew before advertisement, especially if you’re looking to compete with Yahava Kaffee next door (BAE). Wonder how old is their roast?

Food: I can’t say for the pasta & stew mains, but the brunch was underwhelming. The sweet brioche, sweet avocado, sweet spinach and sweet Greek yoghurt dressing produced a salmon -yoghurt cake dish. The French toast was lovely to look but dry and hard to bite, far from the crunchy gooey custard most of us expect.

Aesthetic: gorgeous.

Overall: Lovely brunch spot for a chill out which should tweak it’s recipes/ roasts! Would give it a miss if I didn’t live next door.

Would recommend it’s pastas from a previous trip but no photos, alas!

Or Taste > Looks?

Tried the Summer French Toast @thuscoffee. The brioche looks fluffy but is pretty stale 🍞

Topped with berry compote & greek yogurt, the combined sourness rly does not help the poor toast 🍓

The dish looks pretty, but I think tt taste sld be the priority. What do you think? 🤷‍♂️

Instagramworthy for its gorgeous spectrum of green and brown hues, dirty matcha was just as awesome in taste. You can perceive the fruity, nutty aroma from the coffee and the astringent, green and tea profile in a milky texture. A very experiential beverage
