This is their special menu in celebration of Nationalβs Day. I was told this is their last plate of chilli crab fried rice, lucky me!
Their fried rice was fragrance, although not much of the wok hey taste. Comes with great portion of chilli crab meat with the sauce at the side and mixed well with the fried rice.

Usually, I would order the traditional Kaya Toast - but I decided to try something different and got myself the Cheesy Ham and Egg Thick Toast - basically melted cheese over a slice of ham and egg. Wished the egg yolk could be a little runnier and the bread a little thicker though.

This Toast set doesnβt come with the 2 half boiled eggs. When asked how come - the lady at the counter said - the egg is already in the toast..!! No half boiled eggs? How can...?? π₯Ί

Saw these in their displays some time back but hadn't got a chance to try one until today. Think of it as a Kueh Ambon but stickier, wetter and a version that's made of brown sugar while at it less the egginess. Not the best but works the cravings out as you sip on a aromatic cup of Nanyang Kopi.
$5 for this set. I think quite worth leh.. there's fish cake, one whole egg and also potatoes.

If you want to get to your food fast, best stand in front of the counter to pester the staff. You will get your food first, even when you are given a buzzer. (So what's the use of having buzzer?) This is what this family of 3 with a son still in schooling did even although they placed their order at least 10 minutes later after me. They even got their toast earlier than me. Although there was queue at cashier, the uncle skipped the queue to place additional order of half boiled eggs. The worst was the staffs allowed all these to happen and felt there was nothing wrong since everyone got their orders in the end.
Double standard!

Parents wanted to try so decided to have a few bites. Dipped into an egg wash and fried, it resembles closely to the local version of a French Toast being fried for the crispiness atop. The bread inside still remains with a little tension when cut, lacking crispiness of a well-executed, fried bread. Inside, the salted egg yolk fillings are on the sweeter side β something I found very close in flavour to certain Liu Sha Baos from some Chinese restaurants. It's not too bad, but it can get a little overwhelming for one to finish given its quite rich and gao in flavour; perhaps something one might want to try just once if they hadn't gotten quite over the salted egg trend ... yet.
Quite a simple, no-frills dish that delivers what it promises. Chicken is deboned here, making it easier to eat. Proportion of chicken chunks and pickled vegetables seemed a tad off here; would definitely appreciate more chicken chunks here. Apart from that however, the savoury sauce underneath definitely goes well with the rice to give it some flavour, and the chicken definitely soaked up some of the flavour as well. Pickled vegetables were crunchy, and delivered a tangy and savoury flavour.
I love my Kaya toast but my usual order at Toast Box is their Otah Thick Toast. Crisp bread spread with a somewhat thick and spicy Otah spread that makes my day.
Good old fashion coffee cake. Because some days are just meant for sweet cakes.
