It's been years since my last visit to @vcrlovesyou Bangsar where I fell in love with their π˜Ύπ™π™šπ™šπ™¨π™šπ™˜π™–π™ π™š πŸ§€ and π˜Ύπ™€π™›π™›π™šπ™š β˜•, and this time upon my return to KL, I decided to indulge in the 𝙏𝙧π™ͺπ™›π™›π™‘π™š π™Žπ™˜π™§π™–π™’π™—π™‘π™š 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙑𝙖𝙭 🐣 for brunch at the Galloway branch!

I was surprised at how delicious the house made π™Žπ™–π™‘π™’π™€π™£ 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙑𝙖𝙭 πŸŸπŸƒ was, delightfully plump and tender, but not overly salty like the usual processed ones that you'd get at the supermarket.

Paired with creamy π™Žπ™˜π™§π™–π™’π™—π™‘π™šπ™™ π™€π™œπ™œπ™¨ 🐣 on crispy π™Žπ™šπ™šπ™™π™šπ™™ π™Žπ™€π™ͺ𝙧𝙙𝙀π™ͺπ™œπ™ 𝙏𝙀𝙖𝙨𝙩 🍞, the portion of 𝙏𝙧π™ͺπ™›π™›π™‘π™š π™Šπ™žπ™‘ could have been more generous as it was pretty faint, but what blew me away was the combination of mildly sharp π™‹π™–π™§π™’π™žπ™œπ™žπ™–π™£π™€-π™π™šπ™œπ™œπ™žπ™–π™£π™€ πŸ§€ shavings and π™Žπ™π™§π™žπ™’π™₯ π˜Ύπ™π™žπ™‘π™‘π™ž π™π™‘π™–π™ π™šπ™¨ 🦐🌢️ which gave the dish that little kick of spice and flavour.

Washed down with a cup of nutty and well rounded 𝙁𝙑𝙖𝙩 π™’π™π™žπ™©π™š β˜• and well taken care of by the friendly staff with their exceptional service, it's not hard to see why VCR is one of the leading cafes in the area. πŸ₯°β™₯️β™₯️β™₯️

VCR is an oasis of calm in the heart of busy KL, with good coffee and decent food. Great texture on the thick and fluffy brioche french toast, and the flavour as well as textural combination of the espresso no churn ice cream, sour raspberry compote and coffee-esque mocha sauce worked well. However the chocolate soil and crumble was too fine and irritated the throat slightly.

Housemade rye toast served with Ni-Tamago, house-cured gravadilax, pickled Kuri, prawn Skagen and some salad. RM28 per serving.

Definitely still prefer the Jalan Galloway outlet than the Bangsar due to the brighter and spacious area. Waffle was great as usual, love the generous serving of mushrooms on the waffle.

The unagi had a floss-like texture, different from the Japanese unagi. The whole plate of crispy croissant, pickle kyuri, ni-tamogo and salad was so good.

This would make the perfect warm meal on a chilly day. Rich tomato sauce, chickpeas, 63 degrees eggs, sausages and greek yogurt. Served with 2 slices of sourdough.
