If I have deep pockets and a non-expanding waistline, I would buy all the offerings at Wu Pao Chun and savour them at one go for breakfast, lunch and dinner haha. Unfortunately reality bites and I could only allow myself 2 treats every time I visit the famous Taiwanese bakery. This time I got the mentaiko bao and a crispy rice studded pastry filled with curry. The mentaiko bao was really small but oh so good. Anyway who could resist mentaiko on a pastry right? Think the ubiquitous mentaiko baguette. The curry pastry was equally scrumptious and I would probably get this again. But then maybe not. There are still loads of yummy offerings at Wu Pao Chun waiting to be discovered by my tummy.

We bought this original Pineapple cake instead of โ€˜salted eggโ€™ one because itโ€™s a chef pick! ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿณ The cake crust turns out to be quite dry with tangy pineapple filling. The first pineapple snack for this year. Letโ€™s hope it keeps getting better! ๐Ÿคž

This bun was even smaller than the Tom Yam, but it was stuffed full of mochi and peanut butter. Very creamy, with crunchy peanut chunks inside. Delicious.

Pretty fragrant and not too sweet. Good to go with my buns! ๐Ÿ˜Š

May your life be filled with sweet & juicy pineapple slices ๐Ÿ with right amount of bouncy bread. ๐Ÿž Happy New Year 2020 to our fellow foodies!! ๐ŸŽ‰Cheers!! ๐Ÿฅ‚๐ŸŽ† ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿค—

Used the Burpple breakfast deal.

Although the deal mentioned spring blossom and garlic bread should be a set, the cashier charged us extra for the garlic bread ):

There were also miscommunication where initially the cashier denied that the breakfast deal could be used as it is only for weekdays morning but after repeatedly clarifying that the deal didn't mention it, she allowed us to use it.

Not a great start to the experience though.

Moving on to the food.
The breads we took were Spring Blossom, Garlic Bread and a Coffee loaf.

Just one word to describe them all: disappointing ):
The Garlic bread lacks flavor, the spring blossom is way too oily and the coffee loaf has no coffee taste at all. But I have to admit they were incredibly fluffy.

The drinks were sub-par too as the soy milk is quite an acquired taste while the milk tea lacks depth.

Very disappointed as I heard great reviews about this bakery but it didn't deliver. Or maybe my local taste buds ain't used to it ๐Ÿ˜ฐ

Nonetheless, the ambience is good as the whole bakery feels very atas so I guess that's one redeeming factor. I won't be back though, that's for sure.

Price: 5/10 (quite pricey without Burpple)
Service: 3/10
Food: 2/10
Ambience: 6/10

Overall: 4/10 (Good to try once but will not be back)
