I miss travelling to Thailand quite badly especially with all their night markets & of course, good food!β
β
Since we can't travel, the only other way is to get their food & Yaowarat Thai Kway Chap serves up pretty decent Thai Kway Chap that makes me miss the original one even more!β
β
Known for their extremely peppery soup base, Thai Kway Chap has a soup base like bak ku teh but topped with the ingredients of normal Kway chap. Apart from the usuals such as intestines & stomach, you get fried crispy sio bak, lean pork and pork sausages too! They are extremely generous with their ingredients & even after taking away the portion, the sio bak skin still remains crispy & crunchy!β
β
What's unique as well are the noodle slices, which curls up to look like little pig's tails which soaks up the soup broth with every spoonful. It has a slight qq bite which adds another texture to the meal. The combination is a spicy slurp-worthy bowl of comforting kway chap.β
β
Can't wait to travel once we can, but for now, just food to reminisce!β #BurppleTakeaways

πYaowarat Thai Kway Chap, Holland Village
Imagine local Kway Chap but the Kway is rolled up into tiny curls and soaked in a peppery broth instead of being braised. Yes this is Thai Kway Chap.
A serving of the Kway is $3 and you can order separately roast pork, fried tofu, deep fried pork intestines, fish meat Lap Cheong, vegetables all between $6 to $10. Quite pricy.
Their milk tea, both the original and the green milk tea are very legit Thai style so be sure to order.
I still prefer the local version of Kway Chap but donβt mind trying this again but in Bangkok when travel resumes.
Being new to Thai kway chap, i was honestly confused about the taste because it tastes a lot like kway Teow in Bak Kut Teh (the peppery kind). The side dishes were little pricey, so Iβll still opt for the chilli pan mee.
$5 for a Thailand Kway Chap?? Yes please!!
Signature Thai Kway Chap ($5) - It tastes really like Peppery Bak Kut Teh, but the ingredients and the silky smooth curled up kway makes it very different from anything available in Singapore. While there are thai fish sasuages, roasted pork and pig offal with no gamey taste! I love eating the pig offal with their thai chili which isnβt way too spicy yet cover up any gamey taste.
While the Fried Large Intestines (small - $8), used to be so madly delicious, crispy on the outside and a soft texture on the inside. A plate of Thai delicacies, but it is saltier now βΉ So order at your own risk!

ππΌππΌππΌππΌ Strong peppery flavorful soup! Roast pork has the right cracking and must order the fish sausage as additional side!
Peppery soup and a variety of ingredients in your bowl. A bit too peppery for my liking, but it is something nice to have on a cold day.
