49 Seats (The Centrepoint)

[INVITED TASTING] Had a wonderful feast at 49 seats recently, and I'm definitely coming back!

With a large seating area, 49 seats serve up western food with some Asian twists. Here are some of my favourites:

Fish and Chips with Tom Yum Sauce ($19.90): love the light crispy batter, with the meaty flaky fish within 😍 the tom yum sauce was not too spicy, and had the right amount of sweet and savoury flavours. Such a huge portion to enjoy as well!

Smoked Duck Aglio Olio ($17.90): not only the pasta was in a huge portion, they were generous with the smoked duck slices as well. Just a little spicy but very garlicky, the aglio olio was so addictive! So glad the pasta noodles were al dente and had a good mouth feel.

Salted Egg Popcorn Chicken ($11.90): when popcorn chicken is already an addictive dish, the savoury salted egg sauce added another dimension to the dish 😍 I just kept on eating and couldn't stop all the way till the end of the meal!

With quality food, generous portions and reasonable prices, this is one option to go for when you're in town! Thank you @eatwithkeat for the invite and @49seats for hosting us!

This Italian restaurant has been here for many years after their relocation and continued to serves their signature pasta and other dishes.

Their tom yum seafood pasta is one of the popular item and you would love the creamy but not too spicy kind of tom yum broth here.

Come during lunch time to enjoy the valuable lunch set that comes together with a soup and drink.

Tom Yum Salted Egg Pasta with Chicken Cutlet ($19.90) I read thru the burrple that most of people ordered this. I initially ordered without chicken cutlet version. But I decided to change my mind to try with seafood and chicken cutlet. But I kinda disappointed that the chicken cutlet size was really small tbh 🥲. The seafood they give a lot of variety such as prawn, clam and etc. So I felt that the salted egg pasta really got thick and milky texture. But overall the pasta is well cooked and also complemented with the sauce.

Fish & Chips w Alscampi Sauce ($19.90) they are using different sauce from Tom Yum one but their ingredients is similar to pasta one. So I'm impressed by size for fish & chips tbh. Their fish & chips was really got crunchy and crispy on outer skin filling.

Coconut Float ($6.90)

The King of Tom Yum Pasta deserves its accolade as the king! While most tom yum pasta out there tends to have creamier sauce, 49 Seats' version comes with prominent lemongrass and galangal flavours topped off with a good spicy & tangy kick. It came with a hearty serving of clams and 3 huge breaded king prawns to go with the al dente noodles! 🍝
