Ah atlast, I managed to try this oldie hipster spot. Potato Head Folk has been around for quite awhile & it should not be mixed up with the potato head in Bali. I went during weekday lunch & it wasn't crowded at all. They had a set lunch ($28++) which includes a burger(selected few), a side, dessert & drink. We got one set, another ala-carte burger & their naughty fries to share & it was just nice for 3 of us (girls). I highly recommend ordering the Naughty Fries to share! The fries are more like crispy fried potato wedges, with beef chili (non spicy). & it was ADDICTIVE.
In general, their burgers are slightly overpriced in my opinion ($18 - $28+). They are good but not fantastic blow your mind.

Back at one of my favourite, "top 5" restaurants in Singapore for solid Mexican food. It's on the pricey end of the scale, but I know I'll never be disappointed with the taste and quality of the food here.
By using Chianti wine as the braising agent, the Beef Cheek Pappardelle ($28) stands out among the rest in the comfort and indulgence index. If M&Ms melts in your hand, the beef cheek definitely melts in your mouth.

A different feel eating here - uncles milling around, rushing to ask you to order drinks and delivering fishball noodles to the wrong table. Cheese smell of the carbonara was strong which I like, and the roasted pepper pesto pasta was special, tasted kinda like a heavier, more aromatic bolognese (actually it's roasted peppers and nuts i guess? :D) Heng they ran out of penne, and not their linguine!
Owner Ryan Tan is the current World Siphon Champion and a three-time Singapore Barista Champion, so your coffee is in good hands. If you like your coffee clean-tasting with pronounced flavours, go for the Siphon Coffee ($6.90), brewed with seasonal beans. For an espresso-based coffee, try Magic ($5.50). More robust than most milk-based coffee beverages, this is said to be made using the perfect milk to espresso ration.

I chose Yasai (SGD16) which consisted of salmon poke mixed with soy sauce and ponzu sauce, with balsamic tomatoes, mixed sultanas and onsen egg. I topped up with Ninja rice (SGD2) which is a blend of vinegared Japanese pearl rice and brown rice with seaweed flakes.

Sail on down to this pastel-themed 40-seater joint, which boasts a seafood-centric menu that thankfully won't burn a hole in your wallet. The brainchild of Indra Kantono and Gan Guoyi of Jigger & Pony and Sugarhall, Humpback was conceived after the duo slurped down oysters at the Hama Hama oyster farm in Washington, USA. Here at Humpback, you can indulge in the same oysters, like Blue Pool, Totten Inlet and Rocky Bay, freshly shucked at $6 a shell (just $2 during Happy Hour: 5-7pm, Monday to Saturday!). The Calamari ($14) — fried to perfection, set atop mashed potatoes and surrounded by a moat of 'crazy water' (don't worry, it's just a light tomato broth) — is a sure win for all. You must go for the unassuming, lightly-charred Cabbage ($10) sprinkled with herb cheese, crispy quinoa and a generous douse of chilli oil, you won't believe how good they've made this humble vegetable taste. Finish with the Valrhona Chocolate Mousse ($10) that comes drizzled with sea salt, making this simple dessert go from blah to wow, and the whole experience a whaley good one! Pro tip: Pick a Monday night, where Happy Hour prices go all night long, dine al-fresco with your best friend, and attack those oysters!
This is their Seafood Tower (1 tier $90/2 tiers $190) - chef's choice of the freshest catch which would always include their signature oysters (Hama Hama, Blue Pool, Eld Inlet). Yowsers, anchors away matey!
Essentially a valentine to everybody's favourite fartogenic vegetable, with the oil-plump brussels sprouts having a most exemplary bitter crunchiness and some blessed pieces possessing bits of delightfully charred, crisp and paper-thin skin that go crack upon bite. 4/5

Yet another fab veggie dish at Humpback. Both soft and crispy kale in the same dish, with just the right amount of tangy buttermilk dressing (hate salads that drown in sauce!). The pears were exceptionally sweet and crunchy too.
Back at Humpback, this time to catch the Happy Hour oysters. This was phenomenal - the slightly crispy skin gave way to juicy white flesh. We really enjoyed this, definitely one of the highlights of our meal. The slightly sweet accompaniments - mushroom and I think apple - were a nice contrast to the collagen-filled collar.
Thankful for my colleague's teatime treat with this gem of a banchiangkueh (peanut pancake) - one of the best I've ever had and a good bang for the buck. For only 90 cents, this fluffy and pillowy soft pancake is generously filled with either red bean, peanut or like my case, a glorious mix of both. So darn good I bought it again. There is almost always a queue; some people order in advance and really buy a lot! Uncle Frankie opens only on weekdays and stops selling by 3 or 4pm, but do call and order by 2plus.
