It's an acquired taste. But worth a try. Kinda taste like dessert & a meal in one bite. #lunch
Chicken and Mushroom Aglio Penne ($12 nett). This place, which looks like it's run by at least one Italian, serves up pasta plates and sandwiches for lunch from $12-$20 in the heart of the CBD. Sadly, nothing to shout about. A little too light on taste and aroma.

Organic mushroom aglio olio ($10.80), yes we know, the word organic can be quite off-putting but in this case, it wasn't. The pasta with fresh garlic, parsley, oregano together with sautéed mushrooms was seasoned well and had the right balance of salt and oil. Slurped it all up!
Right after my meal around Holland Village area, I went over to Haakon and tried their classic acai menu. It was delectable and refreshing, but it's relatively pricey.

I wondered if we ordered the wrong items but these tasted really mediocre. Just to lament some of our unhappiness - the bread was dry, waffles were hard, chicken was thin with a thick hard battered coat... Overall, nothing was good. It is not an exaggeration to say that they tasted amateur-ish.
Guess they live up to its name of being "clueless" in serving food that is worth the price tag. 😧

Hearty portions and best part of it all was that there was no GST or service charge. Maple pancakes for my friend while I had the big breakfast platter.
Service was good yet you do have to wait for a while to get served. Nonetheless I loved it when they started reclining their roof and it was such a beautiful sight to be brunching under the sky. Alfresco come indoor dining.
