There's this particular coffeeshop that I always past by whenever I am out for a jog and it will always be crowded even though of its slight inconvenient location but little did I know that it's actually recommended by many food bloggers previously.

Reference to @misstamchiak where she highly recommends the Prawn Noodles ($10) in her blog post, this dish is only available from Mondays to Fridays. It is a different kind of fried hokkien noodles, not commonly seen elsewhere as it is a variation of the wet and dry versions. You can clearly taste the wok hei from every spoonful of noodles and it gets so addictive that we wiped the plate clean within minutes. The usual seafood such as sotong and prawns were part of the supporting cast but the lead has definitely got to be the noodles, which is also different from the norm.

other than that, this at $17 was overwhelmingly delicious. fresh battered prawns, chicken and veges

thanks for tempting me @rachelxie @ccher

Smaller and sweeter, BreadTalk's mini Golden Lava Croissant is just like a cute baby of a croissant and liu sha bun. There was a slight burst of filling but not much of a flow after cutting into it and overall a little too sweet for me. The bite-sized pastry had a nice flaky texture when first bought though it lost a little of its crispness after an hour or so. Going for $1 each, Singapore's first mini salted egg croissant was worth a try for liu sha lovers and best eaten on the spot.

Being the first salted egg croissant I have tasted, it was a interesting combination of textures and flavours. I hope to try more while the hype is still going strong.

Besides the affordability of it being only $40 with two crabs, the star factor has got to be the use of the Korean vermicelli.

As the chewy noodles soak up all of the black pepper sauce goodness, it created a very flavourful slurp-worthy moment with a slight spice intensity, which comes from the heat of the black pepper. Definitely a place worth coming back again to try their other specialities such as Dinosaur Ribs, Assam Curry Fish Head and Pig Trotters Bee Hoon.

I remembered I had this at @porticosg not long ago.

tarts, scones, cakes, cocktails and tea. don't forget to call in for reservations!

Alt. Pizza is perfect for when you and your colleagues are too lazy to think of a place that would please everyone. Who doesn't like a good thin-crust pizza? The fussy eaters in the group can DIY their own 11โ€ pie, while everyone else should just dig into the Signatures. The foolproof Hangover ($17) with pepperoni, fennel sausage and roasted onions is a sure-win for meat lovers, while the Truffle Shuffle ($17) is perfect for you truffle lovers. There's even a fantastic option for the vegetarians in The Lean & Green ($15) โ€” surprisingly moreish with its roasted garlic pesto base topped with feta and roasted squash. Order some lip-smacking Alt. Wings ($13; get the blue cheese sauce!) to share, and a couple of craft beers to kick back. Now that you're in a larger group, you can share those Pizza Doughnuts (YUP!) with Nutella dipping sauce with much less guilt ;) Best part is? This meal will hit the spot without burning pie-sized holes in your pockets.

From the folks behind Carvers & Co, Wolf Burgers is situated within the just-launched PasarBella at Suntec City, which sees a food court-like concept where diners order from different โ€œstalls." Following the popularity of their beef burgers at Carvers & Co, Wolf's menu also includes pork and chicken varieties, alongside three types of waffles. Go for the Pork Gochujang burger ($9.90) โ€” a pork patty char-grilled to-order, topped with Korean-inspired grilled cucumber and kimchi. For something classic and satisfying, the Alpha Burger ($14.90) will do the trick with two thick, chunky beef patties coated in a double-layer of melted American Cheese and caramelised onions. Add a side of crispy, well-seasoned Sweet Potato Fries ($5) to complete the meal. This seems like a good spot for after-work dinner, especially for groups who can't decide where to eat!

Had the truffle chicken bites and truffle angel hair, it's pretty okay but you have to ask for additional truffle oil which makes it super super oil. Otherwise you can't taste truffle. And the fries, don't even think about ordering it. There's no truffle at all. Usually I don't comment on food but this is the worst so far. Their calamari is so thin and dry. Not worth it to spend your money there . Service is bad and slow. You gotta refill your own water and pay for the service charge

Ciao@ is a new Italian restaurant-bar at Haji Lane that serves up delicious and affordable Italian food made from the chef's own home recipes. One of the best of the night was the pork knuckle cooked in beer sauce, served with mash potato and white cabbage. Usually more reminiscent of German cuisine, Chef Domenico has given this an interesting Italian twist and it certainly pays off! The meat is fall-off-the-bone tender, while the skin is crispy and essentially the best part of the pork. Each bite just crackles in your mouth and it's so satisfying. The meat is marinated for days before being cooked, which explains why it is chock-full of flavour. The cabbage is cooked in balsamic vinegar, and has just the right amount of acid to cut through this heavy dish. If you do pay this place a visit, this is highly recommended as a dish to share as it's quite a big portion. Priced at $38. This was a meal hosted by Ciao@, and many thanks to Burpple for the invite!

A trip to BLACK&INK would be incomplete without having at least one muffin to go with their excellent cuppa. The Salted Egg Coffee Muffin is probably the most popular variant, stuffed with a familiar golden liquid found in liu sha baos. While not everyone may fancy the marriage between the coffee-based muffin and the salted egg yolk centre, the Kimchi Egg Muffin (!), on the other hand, hits all the right spot. The batter is studded with kimchi bits and a soft-centred egg is nestled in the middle of it all. If youโ€™re lucky, you might catch some of the limited edition ones like the gooey-centred Thai Milk tea or the zippy Calamansi Curd Muffins when you visit!
