We had basil minced pork with eggplant and petai with prawns, both $8.90 each. A good deal with burpple 1-1 and conveniently located opposite MOS burger near Toa Payoh MRT. My first time having petai, tastes a bit like Brussels sprouts :P

Trying this for the first time. There is 1 for 1 for burpple beyond. 2 small pots are good to feed 2 hungry adults. Need to be careful if eating with children as the chicken parts come with bones. Wife loves the food, hubby not so keen. Wife will bring friends here to visit again, while hubby finds that there are better alternatives else where. Wife prefers the fragrant pot, while hubby prefers the mushroom pot.

Very good and spicy fried chicken! The milo milkshake and creamy slaw are good accompaniment to counter the spice! The sauce that came with the tenders almost reminds me of Chick-Fil-a! Very worth it! Come early to avoid crowds.

Ordered the Mirin Salmon Grain Bowl $12++ and Unagi, Eggs and Toast $16++. The salmon is well-marinated, sautéed mushrooms and carrots are very tasty.
Love the sourdough with the creamy and soft scrambled eggs, the unagi is a little small for the price though. If it’s not for burpple beyond, it’s not worth the price.

For a weekday treat-yourself meal, look to this Japanese resto housed in Thomson Plaza. If you're a fan of fresh salmon sashimi over vinegared rice, the Salmon Zukuchi Donburi ($19) is up your alley. Otherwise, the Aigamo Smoke Donburi ($16.80) featuring juicy smoked duck with crispy skin should do just fine. *Save even more with stackable in-house deals like 1-for-1 Sake on Tuesdays & Sashimi on Fridays!

Creamy white sauce with thick, chewy udon ($16 with Burpple Beyond). Noodles were a little too starchy for my liking but the sauce was smooth and flavourful. Uni was a little too small in portion.

Opened by the folks behind Moc Quan at UE Square, Moc Cottage is their latest concept situated along Tanjong Pagar Road, which aims to bring authentic Vietnamese cuisine in an upscale setting. Featuring a number of dishes apart from Pho and Banh Mi that is rarely seen in the menus of other Vietnamese eateries here, the Banh Beo Xun Quang is the Vietnamese rendition of the our local Chwee Kueh here.

Essentially Vietnamese-style rice cakes served with shrimp paste, fried beancurd and shallot oil, a serving comes with a portion of six with the shallot oil seperately served in a saucer to allow patrons to add the shallot oil to their own liking. Unlike Chwee Kueh that carries a bouncy texture, the Banh Beo Xun Quang is a little more dense; carrying a slightly more radish cake-esque texture though largely tasteless on its own. We really liked how the shrimp paste added on the top felt like our local Otah; carrying familiar hints of Rempah spices and that spiciness-cum-savouriness that gives the rice cakes some flavour. Topped off with crispy toppings such as shallots and fried beancurd, they give the rice cakes a nice crunch while the shallot oil provides a hint of savoury fragrance that antes up the flavour profile of the entire dish. Something that is so familiar yet with a twist, this is an interesting item that is great to share around the table and fun to have.

Nothing against the food, but don't bring a date here. It's caifan and it's served in paper boxes. Black fungus, omelette, butter chicken, stir-fried cabbage. The meat was the best thing here, although it's neither great. The egg was disappointing too.

Nestled in the basement of Sunshine Plaza, this tiny but bustling spot serves Japanese comfort food at their best. For an instant moodlift, go for the Beef Demi Glacé Omurice ($15) that features silky omelette and equally melty slices of roast beef. Another yummy alternative is the appetising Gyutan Don With Salted Spring Onion Sauce ($28) starring thick, chunky pieces of ox tongue. It's safe to say you'd be belly happy with the bowls here!

There's a generous amount of crab meat inside and also red onions and coriander. The glorious scrambled egg came with toasted sourdough bread which was sourced by the owner. Very palatable and not spicy at all. Although this was a side dish, I personally feel that this could a main dish instead of as I think I could finish this up all by myself.
Thanks, @esth3r_esth3r for the invite and Tim @cheeky_allday for hosting and servings us good food!

Don’t quite know where to begin for this, but wow. Finally understand what everyone was saying about not needing a knife, cause this has to be one of the most tender beef cheeks I’ve ever encountered 🤭🤭 Juicy and fork-level-easy tender, this is definitely a must try and still can’t get over how good this is?? Even the roasted peppers and olives on the side were delicious (I hate olives btw), with a normal side of mash. Only gripe would be that since it’s such an amazing dish, it’s only lacking that extra touch to the mashed potatoes to complete the perfection. Definitely do try especially when there’s eatigo 50% at dinnertime, and every other app possible like burpple/entertainer 👍🏻👍🏻
