Not much of a sweet tooth, but can’t resist a good sticky date pudding! The one from @elevenstrands is pretty good - light and fluffy cake, with crunchy bits that provide some great texture. The butterscotch sauce is also super buttery and fragrant and brings everything together nicely.

Yong Xiang carrot cake at Bendemeer food market always has a queue, and I can see why — their teochew png keuh and soon keuh can be pan fried and you can request for more ingredients to be added as you wish! Their pan fried png keuh and soon keuh with extra eggs and dark soy sauce was sooo good. This delicious mess only cost about $6 and is good enough to feed 2/3 pax. Great for breakfast!

Finally managed to try the curry noodles from Cantonese Delights at Hong Lim Food Centre! They usually sell out by 1-ish but luckily they still had some char siew noodles left at that time that day (although they ran out of their fried chicken cutlet…). The char siew and wantons were quite tasty, but the star of the show is definitely their super lemak curry sauce! Seems like a weird combo at first to have curry wanton noodles, but everything went very well together!

They’ve been around for so long but the BCM from @mingfafishball at Thomson Road is still one of the better ones imo! It’s especially satisfying to have their mini hotpot noodles given the rainy cold weather

Gobi Manchurian from @gurkhapalace.sg was fantastic! You wouldn’t expect cauliflower fried in batter to taste so good, but it was really the best dish of the night. The sauce was slightly sweet and tangy and complimented the cauliflower chunks really well. Definitely a must have, and the dry version is recommended!

@bkkbistro.sg is a nice place to chill and eat with friends by the lakeside! The boat noodles are cheap (80 cents) although they aren’t spectacular. However, the other dishes are worth trying! Their chicken skewers were especially tender and grilled to perfection!

La Ouessant ($21.90) from @entrenous.creperie_sg was pretty good! The combination of egg, ham, cheese and mushroom sauce is hard to beat. The crepes were really crisp and cooked really well. Great to eat at any time of the day!

Really liked this seafood charcoal paella ($36) from @purabrasa.singapore! The rice was cooked perfectly, and was very flavourful and smokey. The seafood was nothing special, but the rice made up for it

Shrimp and grits ($26) from @yardbirdsingapore was amazing! Grits were super creamy and paired wonderfully with the savoury gravy. The bacon pieces and shrimp added a lot of flavour to the dish as well.

Made a trip down to try Eng Kee Chicken Wings at Commonwealth area! The beehoon/kway teow but the star of the show is definitely the chicken wings! Fried to perfection and very well marinated

Scrambled eggs with croissant from @thebreadracksg. Eggs were creamy and fluffy, and paired really well with the light and crisp croissant. Not the cheapest but makes for a nice breakfast/tea time snack

Tried out the bombolonis from @thefatkidbakery! Really liked the passion fruit, strawberry shortcake and earl grey flavours. The sea salt maple was a little too salty for my liking #burpple #bomboloni
