Quietly launching itself along Prinsep Street is Curious Palette, a café which currently serves mains and all day breakfast. Think Crayfish Linguine with Chilli Crab Sauce ($23.50), or their Curious Breakfast ($23) — Iberico chorizo, Thai basil sausage, bacon, hash, artichokes, arugula, spicy tomato relish and a sunny side-up. You're in very safe hands when it comes to coffee here, go for their Flat White to enjoy a truly smooth, non-acidic cuppa. It is a joy to have such a good cup of coffee in town, what more in a lovely white-washed, light-filled space.

Wafuken prides themselves on serving food that not only tastes good, but is good for your body too. Located at the food court of Asia Square Level 2, the meats here are cooked sous-vide — an method usually employed by restaurants — ensuring a melt-in-your-mouth texture. If you're feeling like an indulgent lunch, go for their Truffle Wagyu Don ($24.90) that comes with healthy Australian brown rice and an onsen egg. For a far cheaper option, go for their Chicken Don ($8.90)!

Opening their doors at the culturally rich Desker Road is CreatureS, a a modern-day café with a gorgeous interior best described as "chillax sexy rainforest chic". Drop by after work for a drink on their balcony at sunset, then adjourn inside for a meal. The menu is full of gentle surprises, with unexpected Asian twists that seem to genuinely come from the heart. Go for their Prawn Ravioli ($22) — prawn filling encased in silky wanton wrappers, and bathed in a heavenly ginger-garlic-thyme butter sauce. Their Seafood Risotto ($30) boasts beautifully fragrant rice that gives you a hug on the inside, and is perfect for sharing between 2. You'll want to save space for a slice of their moist chocolate cake served with salted caramel, creamy coconut ice cream and topped with Himalayan sea salt. Always call in advance to make reservations!

Other than the steamboat which also comes with a clear broth, the restaurant also sells noodles. •

Chicken satay patties sandwiched between 2 handmade rice 'buns'. Served with a side salad of shredded onion, cucumber & chilli as well as a small pitcher of aromatic chunky peanut sauce.
Marinated for 24 hours with 10 fresh spices (lemongrass, turmeric, ginger to name a few), the succulent chicken patty was tender & flavourful.
Drawing inspiration from Japanese rice burgers & Asian oyster omelette (orh luak), the rice patties were slightly crisp on the outside, chewy inside and made from scratch using 2 types of rice plus a natural binding agent (starch) so that it won't fall apart easily.
What's a satay burger without peanut sauce? The chunky peanut sauce was aromatic & not too sweet.

The different components of the burger blended harmoniously, resulting in a burger that was robust in flavour and with a satisfying bite. It's no surprise this burger won our votes.

Sweet dreams, everyone. I hope the long weekend has treated you well. May the week ahead go easy on you. If it doesn't, just remember that candied bacon, fudgey chocolate brownie and ice cream will always be there for you; consume together for maximum effect.

Pluck's $13++ lunch sets are so impossibly value-for-money, especially when you have options like this beef burger that's made entirely from scratch, from the brioche buns to the double patties to the barbecue sauce. The only thing they don't make is probably the cheese that's gloriously oozy and gooey and melted all over the juicy minced beef.

Essentially a pistachio tart with strawberries stuffed on the top, this tart is not a typical tart with the tart base being a Pistachio Dacquoise, achieving a texture somewhat like a heavy and dense cake with grounded pistachio and Pistachio Chantilly which was pretty full of nuttiness too. Perhaps the Strawberry element can be stronger with infusions into a cream or mousse rather than just being topped above, but I would say that it is definitely still decent overall, especially for Pistachio lovers.

4 munchies: Glad to have made my first visit with fellow Burpple Tastemakers @juliuslim and @sunshineraine. Items to order are Nuts About U (Nutella & Espresso Ice Cubes) and Gula Melaka Cheesecake. Still feeling pretty bummed that they ran out of Yuan Yang Cheesecake, but that'd be a perfect reason to make my second visit soon!

Made with a variety of cheeses, FIX's 3-Cheese Penne Gratin is a dish cheese-lovers will thoroughly enjoy. However, the light-speed waiting time for the dish to be served was a liiiiittle too quick - making me wonder if it was pre-made, frozen and re-heated. The dish would've definitely had that extra WOW-factor had it been oven baked on the spot. That said, FIX is definitely a cafe worth visiting.

Probably the prettiest cafe I have ever been in! Here's their Gula Melaka cake ($7.60) and rose cake ($7.60). We also ordered Nymph of the Nile ($5.80), Earl Grey Lavender ($5.60) and Lychee & Grape Mint Fizz ($7.90). Love finding new places with @moimou and @ediarna!
