Situated in Kam Leng Hotel along Jalan Besar, this modern Chinese restobar shakes up old-school zi char with its innovative spin. We recommend giving the Awesome Silky Egg Hor Fun (from $7.80) a go. The rice noodles are deep-fried before getting tossed with gravy, resulting in an interestingly silky yet crunchy texture. For something to share over happy hour Draft Beer (from $10 a pint), get Chef J’s BBQ Pork ($14.80) for sweet, smoky pork jowl slices to munch on.

Came across this restaurant while looking for a place to have dinner and I was surprised to find such good food in a small restaurant like this. I had the short ribs with mushrooms which were succulent and tender. The truffle fries are also not to be missed!

Despite the relatively higher-end pricetag that came along with this dish, I would gladly say JUST TAKE MY MONEY. A new addition to @southunionpark ‘s current revamped menu, this seafood risotto comprises of squid ink risotto along with a medley of assorted seafood components: prawns, clams, squid, octopus, as well as roasted red peppers. Despite the long time we spent taking photos, the risotto still retained a creamy, thick and slightly grainy texture, one that resembled a hybrid of congee and rice, the ideal kind of risotto texture for me! ✌🏻 💖 The characteristic seafood-sque flavour was one that spoke freshness, contributing to a piquant flavour profile, along with the other fresh seafoode elements, this dish is highly recommended if you are a fan of seafood! 👍🏻 On a side note, this was my 4th visit to South Union Park a few weeks back, and definitely not my last! ✨ Each visit never fails to disappoint, and in fact, each meal that I had always left a positive impression behind, be it the food or service😋🙆🏻♀️. Looking forward to try out the other items in the current menu again (and perhaps soon)before it undergoes an occasional revamp again🤭.

Here's a treat after you've worked up a sweat running along MacRitchie: chill Japanese dinner and drinks with a close friend. Expect bold flavours when you order their Aigamo Smoke Donburi ($16.80) that features lean, full-flavoured cuts of juicy duck meat with crispy skin. Alternatively, there is the Grilled Unagi Don ($28) with sweet, soy-fragrant unagi, or the Salmon Zukuchi Donburi ($19) with fresh salmon belly. Use your 1-for-1 #BurppleBeyond deal to save on two bowls and drinks — more moolah to spend on a roe-loaded Ikura Chawanmushi ($8) side instead!

Took 88/52 from opposite junction 8 to get here. Paid $14 for these as we took 3 premium flavours (+$0.50 each). Waffles didnt have a strong taste but instead crispy and a tinge of old school eggy taste! This is good so that it can compliment the ice cream flavour. We chose honey lavender (must try), earl grey, french vanilla and triple chocolate (not too sweet)
Satisfactory carbonara at a decent price.
Really have to commend on one of the staffs (or owner) for his excellent service provided to my family and me. Highly recommend that you give this little restaurant a try at the Kebun Baru CC!
A suggestion for the restaurant would be to change their pricing for their chicken mains as it can be quite pricey (approx $16) without Burpple’s 1-for-1. Nothing really special about their chicken mains but it is still enough to make you full.
Price: $11.90 (no GST charged)
Ratings: 3/5
Service: 5/5 ⭐️
One of the more popular dishes at Rice-O-Bistro was their Wafu Seafood Pasta (S$14.90), a Japanese twist to our familiar main course. Moving away from heavy or rich sauce bases, this dish focused on tossing garlic and other Japanese condiments to bring out the flavours of seaweed and fresh tiger prawns.
But what I really thought was a pleasant surprise was their addition of coriander into the dish, which helped to neutralise the savoury profile of the dish by a bit. The funny thing was I did not realise I was enjoying the coriander until I was more than halfway into the dish.
With the flying fish roe that created more crunchy bites, I would say that this meal was hearty for lunch, and I could order this again for my return visit soon.

The crispy chicken breast wasn’t dry and I asked for a non-spicy version, the menu advertised it as spiced chicken breast. The staff were very friendly to accommodate my order. The waffles were abit more nua that expect but still the fluffy kind! It might not look like it, but it was very filling! Didn’t manage to finish it! Even planned to get the 20 layers devils chocolate cake but I had underestimated their chicken and waffles!!🤣

The view from Lavo is so refreshing! My parents usually hated the sun but they spent some time looking through the telescopes to spot buildings in the CBD area.

Will be back to try more food soon!
[老妈子板面 / grandma ban mee, #01-07] A new ban mian stall has popped up in Amoy. Menu has only three types of ban mian : chilli, soup and dry. Noodles were quite q and I actually enjoyed the chilli! Wasn't too spicy. Balachan(?) on the counter was pretty intense though. appetizing bowl of noodles and they were quite generous with their ingredients of minced meat, earthy mushroom and black fungus. ($5)
What I woke up for today. The must-haves here are the siew mai and the egg tarts – frilly layers of flaky, crisp pastry cupping soft, melt-in-the-mouth egg custard.
What I especially like about this Korean BBQ joint is their devotion to pork belly. The appropriately-named "Big Hog Plate" ($45++) is a gigantic, 1-inch thick slab of it that should easily fulfill most pork-lover's fantasies. It did mine. Furthermore, the staff even takes care of the grilling to ensure the meat is cooked to its optimum. As it sizzles away to perfection, you should do what I do - continue stuffing your face on their other tasty dishes.
One that I find really appetising is the "KimCheese Fried Rice" ($20++). Served on a hotplate with an egg cracked on top, all you need to do before digging in is to give it a thorough stir. Then the impact of this fusion concoction built from kimchi, cheese, mayo and bonito flakes, can be fully experienced.
If you are into eggs, you should give the "Seafood Pancake" ($20++) a try too. More eggy-than-doughy, it is filled with ample amounts of squid, prawns and chives. I derive pleasure in having this both with and without the accompanying vinegary dip.
Brewerkz's gigantic burger King Brew ($34) is, to quote Burpple Tastemaker Kenneth Lee, for "the mother of all cheat days". Picture this: Two huge New Zealand Black Angus beef patties (each 220g), melted cheese (go for the cheddar), sauteed mushrooms, a whole lot of bacon and a hefty scoop of beer chilli, all sandwiched between two freshly baked brioche buns, plus a side of fries or onion rings. Definitely a party in the mouth. To call it over the top is a bit of an understatement, so spare yourself the food coma by sharing this with at least one friend.
