Very unassuming, not one of their signatures but turned out to be one of the highlights of the night. The squid cakes were salty, fragrant and reminded us of fatty pork belly but much much softer :’-)
Literally everything from Dragon Chamber is exceptional!!
The fried chicken really packs a punch!! Very very crispy and the heat makes the dish v shiokkk. We are usual xiaola/zhongla eater & it’s quite spicy for us.
The maple fritters acts like a fire extinguisher haha, very unique pairing & it works!!
Literally the first item on their signature menu. Basically Cheeseburger in this crispy egg roll skin. The sauce reminded us of Big Mac! Pretty decent, interesting take on a traditional cheeseburger!!
[this photo consist of half of my friend’s cheetos & half of my galbi-choi]
Galbi-Choi: Kalbi, kimchi, gochujang, aioli, hippie greens
I don’t usually eat beef & I didn’t know kalbi is beef short ribs, so was q taken aback when I bite into it haha. Other than that, good flavours, it’s a good bagel. We recommend salted bagel, it’s soft inside while crispy on the outside!!
Cheetos: honey baked ham, Black Forest ham, onion jam, comte, brie
I enjoyed the milk tea so much especially when the creme brûlée was being stirred in. It gives this eggy pudding like texture and occasionally biting into the sugar crust. The milk tea also has stronger tea flavour than those typical bbt shops. But $7 tho.....
Pan-seared dory on mashed potato and drenched in this pesto cream sauce. When I had my first bite I went “omg I’ve never had fish so good” (context: am not a fish lover). The skin was so crispy. Tho I wished the veg medley comes in a more refreshing sauce just cause it’s really a heavy dish with all the mashed potato and cream going on. But overall, I really enjoyed it!!!!
Beyond covers most of their menu so it’s rlly worth &
a group of friends gets to try different things (
Not a fan of the no-bake cheesecake, it was way too heavy & jelak, would rather get their matcha tiramisu (that’s gr888)!!
I have always been a fan of boat noodle ever since I heard abt it. The soup is so light & it defo brings warmth to your heart & soul.
Ordered the pork one while he ordered the beef (Cus I rarely eat beef.... he did mention the beef soup is a lot btr tho) & I thought it was okayyyyyy, soup was light & sweet, portion was good. Nth spectacular but still a really good bowl of noodle.
Shrimp fritters ($8.80) - we enjoyed this a lot!! The prawns are succulent, sweet, bouncy oOoOooO
Thai Green Milk Tea ($3.50) - typical drink u can get at pasar malam for $1.50 but a Thai meal is never completed w/o some milk tea hehe
Bandung ($3.50) - I tried it & my first instinct was “omg... this is so great, so milky” until he said it tasted exactly like HL strawberry milk...... which I agree after awhile..... so idk la try it for urself HAHAHA I was pretty mind blown
My first ever Peking Duck and I finally understood the reason for the rave & the price. I hope the glistening on the duck tells you everything. I’m salivating as I’m typing this. The meat is so so so tender and I also had so much joy 啃-ing the takeaway bones as supper.
Had the chance to try their bamboo clams as well! The 冬粉 absorbs the freshness of the clams and the garlicky- soy sauce so well!! Wa it fits my Asian palette so well on so many levels.
Just looks how appetising this looks. The chicken is really the highlight of the dish which makes me crave for it again and again 🤩 the marinate is real good and add on a croquet for $1.20!! Worth.
Overall: price is not worth for the size but still a decent dessert place with cute Kakigori and fruit bowls.
Chocolate Banofee Kakigori (RM17, small): the chocolate flavour was rich enough & the shaved ice is soft (as expected). Nothing surprising but it’s a decent bowl.
Mont Mauve Kakigori (RM17, small): really like this bowl! It’s a mix berry ice, topped with whipped cream and kuriaro rose powder. The rose powder helped to Zeng this fruity bowl which gives it a floral note.
BME Mazebowl ($7, clockwise starting from the biggest bowl). It’s a “Japanese Bak Chor Mee” they said. Sauce is colourless but full of flavour. L probably one of the must try from Connect 71!!
Lor Bak Bowl ($8): it’s a very average lor bak dish that many moms know how to cook it. It’s great, just not worth $8.
Gyudon ($8): didnt try this but my friends said they were great!! (I mean, anything Beats typical school food 🤩)
Students and staff are entitled to 10% off & top up $1 for their cold brew tea!!
