Century egg with pork slices porridge @ $5.50
Youtiao @ $2

Very good porridge that's of superb texture and a lot of ingredients. Simple yet tasty and flavourful.

The fried fritters is good too just a little bit stale.

Will be back to try other flavours!

Raw fish 😋:
As good as it looks yum yum

Must order: watercress w pork liver
Pork liver was well cooked not over-cooked. Thought the combi was a lil off at first but it was surprisingly good !
First time i tried - a little salty
Second time - just right!
Both time - the liver was always cooked right! Not too raw/overcooked.

Ginger chicken:
For someone that doesn’t like ginger, I must say that i enjoyed their ginger chicken a lot! Not too sure why but mmm😋

Century egg porridge with cuttlefish:
Add egg! Definitely makes the porridge more flavourful. Remember to remove all the ginger (if u hate ginger) before mixing everything! 😖
IMO: Tasted a little bland but a little soy sauce and pepper boosts the flavour.
Overall, a very simple dish and what I enjoyed is that it is not salty unlike the porridge u find outside. Wont have to drink a lot of water after a meal here 👍🏻

Seems like we are having a wet morning this few days, and in this kind of cold weather you need some warm & comfortable food to begin the day.

Was in Tiong Bahru area so decided to make my first visit to this popular porridge place here in Tiong Bahru.

Gotten the mixed pork porridge that comes with every parts of it such as the sliced meat, minced meat, liver and intestine. Add egg for additional texture to the porridge. Don’t forget the you tiao as well.

Massively craving some warm porridge and this was so good. The unholy combination of fresh raw salmon with sesame oil paired with a good thick bowl of porridge. Dont skimp on the egg, you won’t regret it! Sometimes the simplest meals are the best. Can’t wait to head back

Despite that the weather was scorching hot, that didn’t stop me from chomping down on the charcoal cooked porridge with mixed meat of minced and sliced pork. Though it might seem like food for the sick, this plain looking bowl actually packs all the flavours from the natural sweetness from the broken rice grains to the freshness of the meat that was sourced from the nearest market.

✨ Ah Chiang’s Porridge

Looks like Ah Chiang Porridge’s popularity isn’t really fazed in light of all the social distancing. We arrived at 8pm but the place was still almost full. We didn’t have to wait long for a table, especially with the staff helping to find and coordinate seating, but when we went to place our order, a fair bit of the vegetables and side dishes (like the tofu) were already sold out.

All our dishes and porridge bowls arrived within 10 minutes of ordering so it was very quick, and all the food was piping hot! Porridge texture was super silky and smooth. At Ah Chiang’s, I find that I don’t even need to add any additional soy sauce or pepper on my own and I’d still wolf down the whole bowl. No fishy smell from the fish slices, though I wish they’d come in bigger pieces. The lean pork meat was not tough either, and century egg is the perfect add-on for this.

Note that if you plan to visit and want to order the zhi char dishes, you should come here instead of the Jurong East outlet as they have a very very lean menu there. Highly recommend ordering the cai po egg and fried tofu!
