Kept eyeing on these pretty cakes & wanted to try them. Iβd say the simpler cakes are better. Not really fond of flavours like rose & lavender.
Also thought it be cheaper to buy them together but do note that its actually much more expensive than buying individual slices

Able to taste the mango but not so much of the lychee. But overall I love this combination of flavors.
The cake was infused with a strong earl grey taste but i love it!! And look at that pretty buttercream deco on top with some tinge of lavender! A slice is gd for 2 to share!

Guys, I know the North has very few nice dessert choices....I feel you. But fret not, found this place which really can quite hit the spot for dessert lovers out there! It's located at Jalan Tampang, the shop building opposite the famous bai mee fen coffee shop. Both desserts bought were delish. The first one was durian crispy pancake. The crispness of the pancake was their selling point! Durian was also, yummy, as usual. ππ»ππ» next was the matcha waffles. Their selling point for this was in their waffle! Crispy and good! Matcha ice cream not real matcha tho. Anyhow, I must say this dessert place surprised me! πpaid $13.90 for the two desserts. A bit pricy for the location, but nevertheless worth a try! ππ

Recently opened among the cluster of eateries opposite Sembawang Shopping Centre is Baker's Brew Studio, a baking studio cum cafΓ© concept. There is no partition between the baking kitchen and the seating area, so if you visit at the right time, you will get to observe the baking process and grab piping hot bakes fresh out of the oven! There is no fixed menu per se β the bakers let their creativity and inspiration dictate what rolls out daily. Past bakes include Earl Grey Lavender and Red Velvet cakes, Paddle Pop and Hazel Cheesepresso cheesecakes ($6.80), with many flavours yet to come. There's always something different to come back for!
The popover was fluffy & eggy, akin to choux pastry but denser. Each popover was filled with custard & topped with fruits like strawberries & blueberries.

Same chewy bread that oozes out Matcha cream when chewed upon, and the Matcha was pretty thick and sweet. The Matcha-lover in me wishes for an even more intense flavour for the matcha, though I guess it's just me who can't get enough of Matcha-flavoured everything.
From Baker's Brew Studio at Jalan Tampang. Remembered I once posted a Custard version? This is one of the few savoury ones they have. Toasted upon order, the soft and chewy brioche bun turns crisp on the outside yet remains its chewiness and fluffiness within, containing a pool of melted cheese and sweetly caramalised onions over the top. Think of it as a different sort of quiche, removing the egg and pastry base and it's actually a pretty decent light breakfast actually.

Apparently there is two sorts of Carrot Cake's available here; the standard Carrot Cake and the Carrot Farm Cake, though both uses the same base with the only difference being the usage of more coloured icing for aesthetics. Look past the decorations though this was one carrot cake that actually impresses from that moist cinnamon-spiced cake spiked with walnut bits and raisins generously scattered across the cake and that smooth and luscious cream cheese frosting. Definitely one of those that would cling on in my memories and crave for in the future.

Massively sized and filling without being too cheesy or sweet. The numerous treasures within - raisins and nuts etc - are nicely distributed so each mouthful tastes different texturally. I like how they serve the cakes on a big circular tray that provides for klutzy cake toppling. 3.8/5

My favourite. They teach baking classes and also sell tasty cakes and bread. They serve different cakes everyday. π°
......so now you have a Mushroom Swiss Popover that is crisp on the outside, soft on the inside and fluffy in the centre!
From Baker's Brew Studio at Jalan Tampang off Sembawang Road. Their Earl Grey Lavender is pretty aromatic, coming in two-tiers with a layer of buttercream on the top as well as in the middle and at the sides. Buttercream was lightly perfumed with Earl Grey so it did not feel too heavy nor oily, while the cake was also filled with Earl Grey aroma though it can get just a wee bit dry and stiff halfway, though not too bothersome. Perhaps some lavender petals can be added so as to give some aesthetics to the cake.
