Honestly it's very harmonious, idk how much vodka there was but I wouldn't have suspected a thing if you didn't tell me.

Small pieces of sausages and onions were both quite generous, and this dish tastes abit Asian idk why(gochujang to me and chili crab to her). Rigatoni was just a tad hard tho

I mean sure it's not bad, the cheesiness was enough but not too much, and it wasn't overwhelming. But idk why anyone would fork out 30bucks for something with absolutely no ingredients lol. It's not mindblowing anyway

I mean if this is an authentic cacio e Pepe, good for them, it doesn't taste too different from what I imagine anyway. It's literally cheese and black pepper what did you expect?

The ricotta was quite creamy in texture, much better than the ones at supermarkets. However it doesn't have much taste except for a mild milkiness

The truffle shavings are clearly not enough for us to taste anything, but I doubt it's a very good and earthy kind. So what you actually taste is just the cheap truffle paste at the bottom of the ricotta, with the sickly truffle oil aroma. Thank God it's suppressed due to the heaps of ricotta

Toast was brilliant, very crispy on the outside yet still super airy, and holds the thick ricotta well

The flavours made for a light appetiser, but the cheap truffle paste is something I hate. Overall I won't recommend anyway even if you like truffle paste, just not stunning enough to deserve 30++

Caffe Fernet is such a great place to go for chill vibes to hangout with friends/family over good food! @caffefernetsg Their grilled octopus was pretty yummy and great for sharing over a glass of aperol spritz!

We ordered this meaning for it to be a healthy salad dish but it was the unhealthiest of everything we ordered. It’s overly salty and cheesy to the point of being dense and heavy.

My favourite dish of the ones we ordered. The octopus, broccolini and hummus combined beautifully. This may be listed under the small plates section but it was filling and a meal in itself.

1) Cacio E Pepe ($26)
A rich, creamy, and chewy pasta dish unlike any other. Pasta tasted authentic and handmade. The cheese was just nice and not too salty. 🧀

2) Rigatoni Spicy Vodka ($28)
A simple and delicious tomato-based pasta dish. Mildly spicy and might not be suitable for those not used to eating spicy food. 🌶

3) Riesling Domaine Neumeyer 2018 ($19/glass)
Washed the pasta dishes down with this nice and refreshing glass of white wine. 🍇

Overall, the menu was a bit on the pricey side, but the service was excellent and the view spectacular! 🌟

The Whipped Ricotta from @caffefernetsg is great for sharing. The ricotta was very creamy, and matched super well with the sweet honey and roasted grapes. Simple dish but full of flavour - a highlight of the meal!

Perfect spot for a date night with subdued lighting and sweeping views of the bay. The menu is limited but has a decent amount of vegetarian options and each dish is unique and made with care. Blue crab is perfectly cooked and with slight tangy salty taste from the creme fraiche. Topped with thinly cut fresh melon slices. The cafe is expensive a good choice for a special day/date night.

The most wonderful start to our meal with this Truffle Ricotta Brioche toast. Sounds ridiculous but it felt like I was having clouds; mouthfuls of deliciously creamy clouds. Complete with chestnut honey and shaved summer truffles.
Would love to add that service too was impeccable.

HAVE TO TRY THIS POMPANO PICCATA ($42) 🐟and their TONNARELLI VONGOLE ($29), FRITTO MISTO ($24) 🦐🐙 and their drink LUXARDO LIMONCELLO ($20) 🥂
this place is amazing! the service, the view the ambience is just 💯💯

I was surprised to see Golden Pomfret on the menu because it’s more commonly found in Chinese restaurants. But Executive Chef David Tang did the fish justice with his New Italian style of Pompano Piccata ($42) which had it pan-seared for a crisp skin and moist flesh, then served in a delectable sauce concocted from white wine, lemon juice, shallots and capers. The final touch, a scattering of briny trout roe. By the way, Chef personally prepares the pomfrets himself each morning after @ahhuakelong delivers them.

Executive Chef David Tang has been busy creating a slew of new dishes. A native Californian, he’s looked to his formative years on the West Coast of America for inspiration while at the same time, shifted to using more ingredients sourced right here in Singapore. The result - light, fresh yet delightfully moreish creations. Exemplifying this were the small plates we kicked off our meal with. One of which was the Burrata made locally by an Italian, its creaminess cleverly offset by an appetising acidity of green tomatoes, lime juice and fermented chillies.

This is completely new on the menu. The housemade squid ink pasta is sautéed with sweet and fresh flower clams in a lip-smacking sauce of lemon butter, toasted garlic and roasted local dried chilli. My friend and I were so besotted with that sauce, we had to ask for bread to mop it up.

If you can recall, Caffe Fernet was where the Cacio E Pepe trend started in Singapore. And if you’ve ever had theirs, let me tell you, Chef David Tang has taken it up another level. Although still rich, the plate of frilly Mafaldine pasta felt less heavy and seemed a touch “wetter” than its previous iteration. I also thought there was a more pronounced fragrance thanks to four kinds of pepper and extra virgin olive oil.

There isn’t much for choice in terms of pasta at Caffe Fernet, but what they have, they do damn well. Other than the perennial mafaldine, there’s a rotating selection of at least 2 other pastas. The Casarecce Mushroom boasts beautiful, thick cuts of pancetta and mushroom that imparted bags of umami to the toothsome twigs of casarecce pasta, which itself was coated in an unctuous white wine sauce. The garnish of whole oregano leaves lent bursts of herbaceousness which went a ways to counter the richness of the dish.

Taste: 4/5

Had some time to kill in the vicinity - chanced upon Caffe Fernet's happy hour & decided why not. Predictably, the King Cole Old Fashioned ($15++) spoke to me. Bulleit Bourbon, Fernet Branca liqueur, Angostura Bitters. Totally up my alley!

Service is quick & by golly, this drink is a stiff one. I like that, because at the end of it all, I don't find it too diluted & meh. Holds its weight throughout.

I happily sipped on it & thought about life as I took in the nice view of MBS, having been allocated an al fresco seat facing the waters. I was here in the evening, towards the later half of Happy Hour (3 - 7:30PM). I'd imagine that the sun would be quite in your face had I been here earlier in the day... So try to sit indoors during lunch time.

Quite a boisterous crowd on Thursday evening. I will be back & perhaps the next time I'll order off their dinner menu. I have my eye on some pastas...

Ricotta, chestnut honey, thyme ($14) - the ricotta was incredibly fresh and creamy and went perfectly with the crispy, slightly charred sourdough. Again, my only gripe is that it was a smaller portion than expected for the price - I was hoping for more bread and ricotta as it was gone in a few bites. From pictures from other reviews for Caffe Fernet on Burpple, the amount of ricotta and the number of slices of sourdough (originally 3!) has certainly decreased, and this left me feeling pretty disappointed.

Spanner crabmeat, saffron, parmigiano ($29) - this was a really light, well-balanced pasta, with just a hint of lemon and a really strong crab flavour. I was looking forward to a larger portion of crab though - it was scattered about in meagre, tiny little pieces and left the pasta dish feeling rather plain and slightly underwhelming for the price. I’d say you could order this to try or share, but it’s definitely not the most value for money dish here.

Veal meatballs, ricotta, tomatoes, basil - these could possibly be the best meatballs we’ve ever had! They were so tender and the veal was so abundant and flavourful. The sauce paired with the veal meatballs was really thick and creamy - filled with lots of ricotta and mixed with some tomatoes and basil. I’d highly recommend this dish for sharing!
