Ordered takeaway for 1 pax but i was charge by a lady for $1 when requesting for more sambal belacan. This is ridiculous, pls be aware!!!!
3 dishes @ $8.90
This is my go-to nasi padang food and it never disappoints. Seems to be getting a tad more expensive each visit.
1 veg + 1 chicken + beef rendang @ $10.30
If I could marry food, I would marry to this. Coba coba never disappoints though a bit shocked at the price this time. Nevertheless the satisfaction at the end of the meal makes it worthwhile.
Trying this chicken for the first time, super tender and the sauce is sweet, a little spicy and with the lime a little sour but all super well balanced.
The beef rendang and sambal kangkong are as good as always.
Wasn't too hot, but is delicious.
Their paru is really something. Beef lung was meaty w a mild chew, it looks like preserved meat cos of how dried it is. Full of umami
And the amaranth, not sure what sauce it's cooked in but there's it's similar to fermented soybean that has a punchy umami, what a pleasant surprise.
Second time trying and maybe it's just luck but the stuff here is delightful, not overwhelming, not too spicy and very flavourful. If you're choosing randomly it can be pretty spicy though
Apparently I can't detect the heat from their green chili properly because she found it pretty hot
Chili hijau chicken was pretty good, the green chili had a mild vegetal flavour.
Satay cuttlefish? had a lot of peanuts and the cuttlefish was unbelievably tender, there's barely any chew.
French beans were perfect too.
I particularly like their green chili sauce because of the anchovies, it's a very soft and savoury sauce (again with possibly a lot of heat)
My cravings for nasi padang were greatly satisfied at Coba Coba! Each dish you see on this plate was superb on their own - from the flavourful beef rendang, to the lemak sambal goreng, to the soft & savoury bergedil and the spicy & shiok sambal belacan. They all worked so well with rice! Will definitely be back again!
As delicious as always.
And because good things must share, we got our parents to come together and got 6 dishes to share. All are super tasty and our parents like it too.
Veggies go for 1nett each
DONT COME AT NIGHT
I'm rlly disappointed there's literally one meat left at 6pm wth. Beef was reasonably tender and well spiced, sambal belachan was textbook, and both the kangkong and brinjal had unique chili's to them. Quite spicy tho
Bitterguord was slightly undercooked.
I want to try next time:
Chili hijau ckn (green chili)
Paru(beef lung)
Sambal cuttlefish/ckn breast
Lemak chili padi ckn
One of my fav place to go for Indonesia dishes. I can just randomly chose, The Red or green chili chicken both equally tasty and flavourful. The chilli is really π£ good (they have a few types, I always ask for the spiciest one).
π°$15.6 (2 sets, chicken, vegetables and egg).

Couldn't have asked for a better lunch when the whole morning was just a mad rush. Yummy and tasty dishes (sambal veggie, beancurd with long beans and chicken), and also love the texture of the rice, especially the parts that's soaked in curry.
Asked for both chilli, the orangey one is more spicy and tangy while the red one is more on the sweet side.
Cleared out the entire plate and will be back for more!
Top plate: beef rendang + sambal sotong + vegetables (not sure what veggie it is π)
Bottom plate: stingray + long beans with tofu + sambal kangkong + begedil
Have passed by Coba Coba many years back and have made a mental note to go try the food, but never did until today. Quite crowded when we reached at about 1pm, but the staff was nice enough to set up a small table for us. Queue was long but moved very fast.
All the dishes tasted great and the gravy was yummy. Beef rendang is well cooked through but wasn't to the point of being tough; sambal sotong was amazing in terms of taste and texture; the flesh of the stingray came off nicely and tasted real good with the sauce. All the veggies were great though there's a tinge of sweetness. Begedil was good but no further comments.
And the rice has an awesome consistency, not too moist and not too dry.
Best part of the whole plate - chilli! Awesome for people who love spicy food and it leaves the stomach nice and warm for a long time π
They have got a classic set nasi ambeng at $23.40 for 2pax which has got quite a number of dishes. Will be back to try.
Pretty alright a plate of nasi padang, we visited in the evening at about 6 plus so unfortunately there wasnβt much ingredients left. It was not too bad but it wasnβt very extraordinary for the dishes that we got today - will probably be back to try the others.
I liked the retro style decor, was a nice touch to a normal street food eatery. Almost felt as if we were in a cafe (but without the aircon)!
Company catered bento Nasi Ambeng for lunch! Love their bergedil and sambal belcan, extremely spicy but shiok!
