Duck Confit

But their Dark Chocolate Fondant ($12) is perfect too. The chocolate lava cake had a light airy texture which is perfect with the rich and warm chocolate lava. Its white counterpart, the cold vanilla ice-cream, is unadulterated goodness and I approve its quality. Can tell that real vanilla beans are used from the aplenty black specks. Not some artificial vanilla flavouring.

I must say the mash potato and the succulent duck is amazingly good! One of the best dishes in Singapore you must try. Not forgetting their foie gras that melts in your mouth. Head down and try it for yourself!! Also, their tiger prawn aglio olio is not bad too. Will be back to try out more dishes !!

love the sakura ebi pasta and the duck confit.. and the truffle fries is so addictive.

Duck was rich tasting, obviously since it has been cooked in its own fat! Thankfully, the orange-tinged gravy brought a nice refreshing cut to the otherwise rich dish. One small observation was that the duck might have been slightly overcooked by a minute as the meat was kind of dry? Might have been perfect if it was removed from the heat slightly earlier Β―\_(ツ)_/Β―

Yet as you can see, there is severe inconsistency:( with mine blackened)

The skin was neither crispy nor the meat nicely juicy.

I remember when Saveur first started, I was one of those who queued for a taste of this. It was delicately seasoned, cooked to a fork tender moist leg of duck Confit.

Sure, the sauce has since been refined to leaps and bounds comparably, but the star of this dish is really the duck. Why should we fall in love with a side of mushrooms instead?

Duck confit sets for $22 is amazing value for money.

The earthy goodness in those truffle butter mushroom chunks ERMYGOSH

Never say that you've been to Saveur (@saveursg) if you have never savour their Signature Duck Confit ($16.90). Cured with salt and cooked in its fats, the crunchy skin and tender meat taste super rich. πŸ˜‹ I love how the jus accentuates the sweet-savoury taste of the duck. Though the meat was a tad dry, the creamy mashed potato adds smoothness and moist which softens the entire texture. πŸ‘

To be very honest I've always thought of saveur as a restaurant that caters to the masses since they want to bring French dining to the common people. What I didn't realise is that they meant to do it by adjusting the price point and not the quality of the food.

Seemed a bit dry when this was placed on my table but wow how tender it turned out to be. Very strong duck taste with dat crispy skin, it's my first duck confit and I can alrd see it being my benchmark for a long time to come. I don't really like the tangy sauce but it goes so well with the mash(which was super smooth and good enough on its own) and the mushrooms.

Didn't have plans to come back again but definitely changed my mind after this. I have a feeling their beef bourguinon might even be better than what I had in France :)
