Toretama Pudding (Matcha Azuki Pudding) ($4.90)
hmmm the pudding was quite easily to cut through (not that hard tbh). I felt that it was quite thick texture for pudding but auzki was not much on bottom of the jar. For taste wise, I felt that matcha and azuki was not obvious (not that strong) and good for after meals dessert. I saw the pudding on the dessert area a lot of times and wanted to try it for matcha lol.
This literally melts in the mouth, also the best part is that it’s really grilled to medium rare as seen inside the skewer. Beefy flavour is also enhanced. Price point is obviously high but at least it’s a bit lower compared to those served in high-end yakinuku restaurants. Overall 8/10. Will buy only occasionally though.
🍫 Salted Chocolate Eclair
📍Don Don Donki (@donkisg)
📌 Multiple Outlets
💰 $2.50
Eclairs remind me of catered buffet receptions pre-cowvideo19. Remember all those sexy, smooth dong-shaped morsels filled with cream that you would pile on to your plate after finishing all the beehoon and stir fries provided by the caterer? Honestly, when did caterers suddenly decide that eclairs would be the staple dessert for their metal casing buffets? Anyways, I tried an eclair again for the first time in a few years from Don Don Donki, though this eclair is a little different.
This eclair is sold frozen, so the salted caramel cream is frozen too and has the texture of ice cream. It has a very very light chocolatey flavour with a hint of fragrant saltiness. Cuz of the freezing the choux pastry became a tad drier but generally still really good!
It's alright for $2.50, worth a try!
Thankful for the staycay break this weekend and we’re back with our staycay staple from Donki woohoo. This time round, we picked up the salmon sushi, maguro maki, hirame sashimi and amaebi. So satisfying!
Grand opening promotion from 25-30 June. My all-time fav sweet potato is selling at 2 for $3! This is one thing that I’ll never get sick of. Love the caramelized part on the outer sides.
For takeaway katsu, it was very good, better than some restaurants. There was also substantial fat. Unfortunately the noodles weren't as good as the cheap one at Takashimaya. The egg was like plastic.
My favourite style of oysters is fried. It cuts the rawness but retains some of the brininess. So it's expected these were shiok.
The milkshake is blended with their popular Japanese sweet potato and Hokkaido milk. It is so rich and creamy, it’s actually quite filling. If you’re a fan of their sweet potato, you will like this.
Takosen (takoyaki + senbei) is consists of takoyaki balls sandwiched between Japanese crackers topped with sauce and mayonnaise.
Otono no Amasa (sweetness for Adults) series. Moderately sweet, smaller sized wafer bars with genuine flavors. Mild creamy matcha flavor.
Assortment of prawn sashimi and sushi rolls. The large prawns were sold frozen and can be consumed once thawed. Fresh and pretty reasonably priced.
Sounds and looks better than it tastes. The ice cream had a bit of the cheap aftertaste. Ditto for the toppings - chose some chocolate shavings and chocolate balls. Was struggling to finish this portion.
Significantly less sweet than the original version of this, which is much preferred. As a fan of kinako, this satisfies the taste expectation and even more so with the fragrant and crunchiness of the ingredients used. Hard to stop at one serving size!

Suggest to skip their fried stuff, it’s not crunchy as I expected, like those hard to chew cold fried stuff and not at all tasty, a little waste my calories kind of feel...🍗🍖
But recommend their salmon belly sushi!!! So yum! Like as if the salmon is gonna melt in my mouth! Both the torched and teriyaki sauce salmon sushi are the hit! Go try them!🍣
Damage: $27.90
The rice was slightly more firm than I would have liked, as it had probably been sitting in the refrigerated shelf for a while. But the salmon tasted pretty fresh and came in fairly thick slices. Overall, quite a steal for the price and convenience.
Price: $9.80 for 10 pieces
