I love the oyster cakes from Fu Zhou Poh Hwa Oyster Cake but I just wish that they didnโ€™t put celery or coriander in it! Other than that itโ€™s perfect and everything I want in a snack.

Glad that we didnโ€™t need to wait or queue on a Saturday afternoon (around 2PM).

No doubt this is good but I still prefer the one at Teochew Meat Puff (Woodlands)โ€ฆ

Upsized oyster cake @ $2.80

There's a few places with this traditional dish and wanted to try them at different places. The one here only has oyster option but it comes with a small prawn in it. Tastes not bad but the seasoning of the filling can be slightly strongwr. The pastry is a bit too thick and can be crispier.

Overall tastes not bad but we prefer the Teochew Meat Puff at Woodlands.

Not too many places where you can find this traditional deep fried snack from Fuzhou. This stall is located at Jalan Besar Berseh Food Center. Be prepared to wait up to 30 minutes but you be given a buzzer to inform you when your order is ready.

I ordered the upsized version for $2.80 (normal $2.30). It came packed full of minced pork, yam, one large oyster the size of my thumb, two shrimps, chives and peanuts. If you like chilli, go for theirs which is somewhere between sweet and savoury. But remember to eat the oyster cake while itโ€™s hot. It does not taste greasy and the juices from the ingredients packed into the snack comes oozing out of every bite.

Some say the Maxwell stall serves the best oyster cake in Singapore. I beg to differ. This is the one for me.

I simply adore the oyster cakes ($2.30) from Fu Zhou Poh Hwa Oyster Cake at Berseh Food Centre (#02-34)๐Ÿ˜ I grew up snacking on oyster cakes whenever my dad dabao them home for tea break and the ones from this stall are sooo good. The batter is super thin, crispy and fragrant with a hint of sweetness. The pillowy oyster cakes are stuffed with a generous amount of well-seasoned minced meat, prawns and oysters and topped with fried peanuts or anchovies. Hands down my all-time favourite hawker snack ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป!

My first time having oyster cake. Very flavourful and It taste as good even after it has cooled off. I will be back for this yummy oyster cake soon!
