It's really sweet, it's like of like liquid condensed milk. Luckily it's not sweet to the point of scratching your throat as Mac's desserts tend to be.

Overall it's somewhat pricey actl, I spent 25 here for just myself(tho I took away some food). Two pax can share 3 dishes and that shld amount to about 15 per pax

Briyani was buttery and there's spice, but quite ex for basically just rice and raita. The potatoes and cabbage were mild thankfully, but the brinjal sambal was intense, very zingy with an almost unbelievably strong brinjal taste.

U might think I'm silly for ordering 3 masalas and tbh I was regretting hard as well but once I tasted it I was relieved, they're significantly different

The sotong has a rlly strong inherent flavour, and the gravy was thick and salty(no worries tho, you're just supposed to eat the sotong I believe, this gravy isn't meant to be ladled over rice) the texture was not the best, it's not super chewy but it's hard

The mutton was absolutely stunning, incredibly deep in flavour and very well rounded, nice balance of sweetness and sourness with umami taking front stage. Mutton was ultra tender too, it's a restaurant quality dish without a doubt

Ckn masala was lacklustre, the ckn was v dry

Keep this humble eatery on Chander Road in mind for simple authentic South Indian cuisine. Expect a mountain of free-flow rice, curried vegetables, chutney and papadum. Dishes to order include their Dal with Green Pepper and Brinjal, Mutton Rendang and Tumeric Fried Fish (~$7 per pax with meats!). While most diners here eat with their right hand, utensils are available upon request if you prefer. Pro tip: To avoid queuing, come for late lunches (around 2pm) or early dinners (6pm).

Short review:
Rating: Between 1 - 10, a huge 20!
Food: Simple, comfort food with so many veg and non-veg options! We love their Chicken Masala, Chicken Curry and Mutton Curry! Tried their fish fry once - it was a little dry! Avoid Chicken 65 also - tiny pieces with no meat! But, this place is perfect for a late brunch on Sunday! You can forget eating for the rest of the day!
Service: Quick and efficient! Sometimes they serve too much rice so be careful
Price: Approx. 21 SGD (for 2 people which included: 2 leaf-sets + a plate each of Fish Fry, Chicken 65 and Chicken Masala + 2 pieces of the Indian sweets available at the checkout counter)

This picture is to show the Laddoo and Mysore Pak which we did take-away for because we were too full that time!

Long Review:
For a first-timer, ordering the food may be a little confusing! All you have to do is find a place for yourself and sit down (You may have to share your table during peak-hours, yes it gets that crowded) and WAIT! The servers would have already noticed you and would be busy preparing your plate (leaf?). The picture you see above, is what you get first! This is their standard meal set with white rice (unlimited portions) They have brown rice options too! Then either you can check out their menu before-hand (pasted on the door) or just wait for one of the servers to get a tray with most of the non-veg items in small bowls! Order what looks good and enjoyyyyyy! For a true comfort-food experience - feel free to use your hands!
