More Reviews of good food at Imperial Treasure Fine Teochew Cuisine (ION Orchard)

Quite sweet, no lard, the high quality pumpkin and gingko worked well

But why it costs almost 20 bucks for 1 pax portion, only jesus knows

Overall:above average Teochew for jaw dropping prices. Avoid at all costs

Quite watery, a clean version and very good chestnuts.

But the price is ridiculous, this wasnt mindblowingly by any means

PSA half their menu is not available. Ridiculous, for 1 star restaurant no less. Thats why we got this which was completely outside of research

It's alright, the satay sauce isnt particularly punchy but the Angus beef slices were reasonably tender

Overpriced af

It's alright, nothing spectacular and utterly overpriced. The cabbage isnt even stewed, the sauce is just ladled on top

As ppl say, quite well Fried, not v strong flavours, there's some wok hei and not as crispy as it looks. It looks like theres enough chye Poh but their chye Poh is damn weak so definitely ask for extra. Somewhat oily

It's alright, and ridiculously overpriced. Feeds 2

Duck and pork knuckles, tofu complimentary

The sauce really is as ppl say, it's very clean and very refined, you can immediately Tell it's of exceptional quality, very different from anything ive had. Plus they put oil so it's abit op

Unfortunately, duck is tough, pork knuckles has way too much bite despite being sliced Thinly, and the tofu which is unique in texture doesnt pick up enough sauce to go along w its denseness

You be the judge of whether to get this.

They recently retained their star

Pickles were alright but chili wasnt good, the heat was not grounded

marinated meats — we chose duck, pork intestines and cuttlefish. clean, flavourful and fresh tasting ingredients, a straightforward dish executed well. a must-order at imperial teochew.

8/10 🌟

So we tried both the normal siew mai and this less common teochew styled one. Preferred the former, and this was less seasoned and flavourful, I'm guessing since its teochew to emphasise freshness of ingredients.

This is reminiscent of a good waffle i.e. cripsy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside. Made savoury with a good xo sauce. Dim sum, and food in generally here is a bit on the pricier side but still considered matching for the quality.

Not a novel but still an ingenious idea to have a crispy crusty fried roll with juicy prawns wrapped in a silky smooth rice sheet. So many textures in one bite!

When my foodie friends Angeline and Milly asked me where I would like to have my birthday dinner this year, “Imperial Treasure Fine Teochew Cuisine” was the first place that popped into my head. I figured it would be nice for us to have a Chinese meal together for a change.
The food at this 1-MICHELIN Star restaurant was as expected, very good. We started with the pig’s trotter jelly, a classic Teochew delicacy which is done superbly here, followed by can’t-go-wrong roasted pork belly. Individual servings of a thick, silky collagen-rich soup arrived next, followed by these dishes to share: deepfried whitebait, sautéed beef cubes with garlic chips and a very tasty oyster pancake. We then slurped on a serving each of braised vegetable and mushroom in superior broth. To round off, Milly ordered two kinds of carbs. One was a long-time favourite of mine - the “wok hei-full” hor fun with diced kailan and preserved radish, while the other was a lusciously decadent “mee pok” with fresh lobster.
I chose warm almond cream for my dessert and it was pleasing for sure, but on my next visit, I’m going to get the orh nee (yam) with almond cream because they form a really well-balanced combo.
It has to be said though that the best thing about the evening was the company.

My favourite egg tarts by far, tasty and delicious, bite size just sufficient, and not too sweet. My always order on the list.

This is not the Peking Duck one.

This is One Michelin-starred fare. Is it really deserving of its star?

Summary of visit:
1. Great tea.
2. Great meat.
3. Great service.
4. Great place to bring your parents to.

This was a very good rendition of a Chinese staple. At the 1 Michelin Star Imperial Treasure Fine Teochew Restaurant 🇸🇬, they do it simply but very well. Beef tenderloin cubes are wok fried with a generous helping of sliced onions and a powerful Sarawak black pepper sauce. The onions and beef are both cooked lightly and remain crisp and juicy respectively. A good dish 👌

Judging based solely on this commonly-found beef dish, I think Imperial Treasure Fine Teochew is deserving of their One Michelin Star. They get it so perfect, it is head and shoulders above most, if not all that I have eaten.
Each large, juicy cube of beef hits the optimal point of tenderness and the amount of seasoning is just right. Add to that, thin slices of garlic fried till golden brown and fragrant, yet light and remarkably grease-free.
Worth clashing chopsticks to get the last piece.

Executed with finesse, the humble “Omelette with Minced Pork and Preserved Radish” at this One Michelin Star Chinese restaurant is the best of its kind that I’ve come across.
Besides being soft, light and fluffy, the bits of meat and crunchy radish are very evenly distributed within every square inch of the egg.
The omelette is first presented whole before being cut into segments right at the table.

A Chinese oasis away from the shopping crowd, Imperial Treasure Fine Teochew never fails to deliver in their quality of food. You cannot go there and not try the Chinese Arrowroot Herbal Soup and the Minced Mushroom Steamed Dumplings.
