More Reviews of good food at Imperial Treasure Nan Bei Restaurant (Ngee Ann City)

This is mee pok with bean sprouts, shimeiji mushrooms and truffle oil. The mee pok is smooth and the ingredients combine into a delicious and fragrant dish. The photo shows a single bowl only (the waitress helped us to split the dish into individual bowls).

Prawns were huge and egg gravy was generous. But disappointed with the overall lack of wok hei in the dish to elevate the taste.

The best tofu hands down. Where you get veg and seafood all in a single dish. Iโ€™m all in.

The pork belly is braised until melted in the mouth. The sweetness of the Mei Cai vegetables helps to cut through the oiliness while giving it a nice crunch.

First, the superior stock of pork bone, chicken bone and Jinhua ham is brought to a boiled.
.
Once the superior stock is boiling, the staff will cook the Japanese A5 wagyu beef first. Similar to shabu shabu, the wagyu beef slices are cooked in the superior stock to allow diners to enjoy the fresh and tender wagyu beef.
.
Lastly, the Hor Fun is added and cooked in the superior stock. The Hor Fun is then served together with the soup which has that extra beef jus flavour in it from the previous cooking of the wagyu beef. This elevates the whole appreciation of the rice noodle.

These 3 dishes around $60. The roast duck has very crispy and nice skin. This is the thin duck not the fatty version. We like the claypot chicken with liver.
Overall a bit pricey but the quality of food is excellent. We rate this 8.5/10. The food is better than Crystal Jade below but the ambience not as good due to the fairly small interior.

Under that silky soft layer of tofu, topped off with extra spinach soaked in the savoury sauce. .

Really love the fried taro strips that #imperialtreasure add to their yu sheng.

It always feels like a pity to just have the skin since the piglet has so little meat. But you can get them to fry the remaining parts of the piglet to enjoy some meat as well. ๐Ÿ˜‹

Part of the Imperial Treasure family, Imperial Treasure Nan Bei โ€” which means North and South in Mandarin โ€” has an extensive menu that includes all Chinese cuisines from North to South of China. From hand-pulled Shanghai ramen, delectable dim sum and even Cantonese double boiled soups, you can be assured thereโ€™s something for even the fussiest eater in the family. Conveniently located on the fifth floor of Takashimaya, Nan Bei is a great pit stop for the whole gang to refuel after shopping. You wonโ€™t go wrong with dim sum options (till 5pm) like the Baked BBQ Pork Bun ($5, 3 pieces), crispy Yam Puffs ($5, 3 pieces) as well as heartier items like Ee Fu Noodles (from $14) and the Tung Hoon with Scallops (from $16). The latter is seasonal so just ask the friendly staff if it's available โ€” you don't want to miss out on this heavenly combination of seafood and noodles!
Avg Price: $25 per person

This place is honestly my favourite place for dim sum now! All the dim sum we ordered (the typical siew mai, carrot cake, xiao long bao etc) tasted really good, but this baked BBQ pork bun was EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD. When I say exceptionally good i mean REALLY REALLY GOOD! the bun was baked to literal perfection, slightly crisp on the outside but when you take a bite, it's so soft ๐Ÿ˜ญ I'm not a huge fan of buns but this bun tasted so good that I actually ate 3 of them!!! Overall, the service was really quick, the food served were all hot (which is good) and of course, very good quality. Highly recommend this place if you would like to satisfy your dimsum cravings but remember to make a reservation first!

Even though salted egg is so overrated, the Liu Sha Bao here is still one of the best in Singapore! And I'll be back at #imperialtreasurenanbei again tmr for dim sum. ๐Ÿ™Š Dim sum errrrday! #burpple #dimsum #saltedegg #liushabao #imperialtreasure @imperialtreasuresg

All around quite delicious. The standouts were the yam puffs (super crispy but with yam that melted away in the mouth...), liushabao and charsiew sou. Congee was also delicious, as was the xiaolongbao. The carrot cake probably fared the worst - I like mine more golden brown and with crispy bits. Not pictured were the soufflรฉ balls with red bean and banana (fave of all time!), egg tarts and liushabao. Oh, and it was just us 3 girls for all that food. Oops.

Tender pork collar with shrimp sauce that's not overpowering. Just makes you want more ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹

The flavours of brown mushroom & yellow chives w ee fu noodles is always so alluring. ๐Ÿ˜‹ #tgif #imperialtreasure #sgfood #burpple #burppletastemakers

Can't compare to Mandarin Kitchen in London, where the stock could be more flavourful and the ginger taste could be stronger as well. But this is as good as you can get in Singapore! #getfatfriday #burpple

Char siew that was done very well. If it had less fats and was slightly more charred on the exterior, it would have been even better!

Sadly they ran out of spinach. The spinach tofu was suppose to come w more spinach, but the nai bai goes well with it as well. The egg tofu with spinach was very good!

Such a beautiful orange. They always do their drunken prawns very well. Eat the prawn and drink the soup. Yum
