Kinki Restaurant + Bar is a refreshing urban concept with a breathtaking view of the waterfront and skyline of Marina Bay. Its cheeky moniker hints of creativity in cuisine and atmosphere, setting Kinki apart from conventional Japanese restaurants. The menu explores cooking techniques that complement Japanese cuisine, uncompromising on the freshness of top quality, rare and seasonal items from Japan. An extension of the restaurant is its rooftop bar located on the third floor which overlooks a breathtaking, panoramic view of the Marina Bay skyline and waterfront. Its edgy and urban vibe is reminiscent of Tokyo’s hip street watering holes. With an entrance flowered by pink sakuras, a riot of vibrant colours and graffiti scattered across the bar, the casual mood makes it a great place to chill with friends and unwind after a hard day’s work.

After more than 1 month in advance reservation, finally got to try this restaurant with a good view! The century egg with tofu is a must try. We probably ordered like 3-4 servings of that. Loved the aburi salmon sushi and the fried river shrimps as well. Sashimi was good. Japanese fishcake (looks like luncheon meat) was good too as a snack while talking and waiting for other dishes to arrive. Octopus tentacles was not too tough/chewy. The lift to level 2 goes straight into the restaurant, so we could only enter from 11.55am (it starts at 12pm).

Eat all you can sushi, sashimi and Japanese dishes! Each dish is of good quality and a decent spread that you would actually be so full after the meal it’s hard to walk.

Ala carte styled buffet with dishes like snow crab and century egg tofu, wagyu foie gras donburi for you to go crazy over.

Be sure to request for a table beside the window and book at least a few weeks in advance!

The timeless marriage of heat and crisp texture in Buffalo wings gets next-level with the Nagano pork cutlet in this riff on katsu. Loved the unusual combination of heat and umami in this dish!

Tender and juicy fried chicken thigh marinated in Korean Gojuchang chilli sauce, nestled between a fluffy mantou bun. Lovely fusion of Asian flavours!

I’m not usually a fan of lamb but this dish really impressed me! The lamb meat was tender, with a outer layer (metaiko breadcrumbs) that was crunchy and savoury!
