3.75⭐ Opt for asian delights at KPO. Came without expectation and was surprised that food is not bad though. The hokkien mee is full of pork belly, squid and prawn. The nasi lemak comes with grilled prawn, otah, fried chicken, ikan bilis and sunny side up. However the price is double the price of hawker food even after using the burpple deal.

It's a standalone restaurant at the start of Somerset with nice ambience. Enjoyed a hearty portion of nasi lemak with thick otah and satay chicken. The pork slices were very well seasoned. Was a delightful lunch and worth it with one for one.

Chicken wings are flavourful and tender, ordered 10 pieces for 2 pax which is just nice. Calamari was prepared in Asian style with garlic, Chili padi and curry leaves.

As pictured is jina-a draught craft beer which retails at $10/pint

Price: 4/5
Taste: 5/5
Ambience: perfect for dates or chill night outs with friends

As heightened measures kick in, restaurants have to adapt to the situation in order to survive.

You probably have see many restaurants coming out with value set for takeaway or delivery during this time.

KPO offered their $10 rice box with a few options. I gotten the pork katsu curry rice box which was surprisingly good.

The curry was a lot and it totally flooded my rice box. Pork katsu was crispy and tender, taste excellent with the overeasy egg, Brussels sprouts and sautéed onions. The portion was right and definitely worth the money.

We came in the afternoon at 2PM, so we looked at their lunch menu (12.30-3PM). When paying - and this was BEFORE 3PM - they charged us the Night Menu (3PM-10.30PM) prices. I was shocked and asked them why - they told me Burpple deals follow the “main menu prices” aka Night Menu prices which were more expensive.

I didn’t really like that, but didn’t make a fuss about it. Afterwards I realised the menu that’s linked on the Beyond redemption page is the Night Menu too. It would’ve been a lot better if this was communicated to us beforehand (we did tell the waiters that we were using Burpple at the start) so we wouldn’t get a shock looking at the bill.

Otherwise, the food was overall good but pricey. The Nasi Lemak was very yummy - the chilli was very shiok, Otah and chicken were both delicious. It can be a little bit spicy for those that have a low tolerance for spicy foods, but for me it was just very shiok. $17 is a bit much for such a dish - I know I shouldn’t compare to a hawker price but I can’t help it. Even with the Beyond deal I still think it’s kind of pricey - and these prices are before GST.

Otherwise, the food was overall good but pricey. The Hokkien Mee was tasty, at the same time tasted healthier and less oily than ones you get from hawkers - this could be good or bad depending on your preference. $16 before GST is a bit much for such a dish - I know I shouldn’t compare to a hawker price but I can’t help it. Even with the Beyond deal I would not order it again.

Don’t get me wrong though, it’s a yummy dish. Perhaps if you didn’t have a budget and wanted to eat hawker food without it being too greasy, this might be a possible choice.

Forgot to take a nice photo before eating but managed to get a shot halfway through the meal😂 🥩🍳🍟

Ordered the STEAK AND EGGS off their lunch menu ($16++). Comes with a steak (to the doneness of your choice) covered in a slightly peppery mushroom sauce, two sunny side up eggs and shoestring fries (think McDonald's fries but less salty and with random pockets of truffle flavour). Quite a filling meal, had to share some of the fries and meat with my friends. Though it wasn't particularly impressive, this dish was satisfying nonetheless. $16++ for steak with sides like these is quite worth it, especially considering how this is a slightly pricier cafe to dine in. Come for their lunch sets for the best value.

Drinks are costly here, I ordered a $9++ cup of generic tomato juice as they had run out of their cold-press juices (included kombucha).

We had two round of food cos we are mad hungry. Live band on Labour’s day, great music! Thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks here.

Came here as we had burpple beyond and wanted to try smth new. The steak and eggs were fine, and the meat was tender. However, we ordered the wagyu beef sandwich as well which... I must say was quite underwhelming. It was a $27 beef baguette with no sides. While the decor was chic and modern, the music was otherwise. I could not believe the DJ was playing hits from the 80s or even before that I wouldn’t know. Also, there was a big Soccer match that night AND THEY DIDNT USE THE TV TO PLAY THE MATCH. Instead, they used it to play music videos of songs that were outdated. What a waste.

The food is really good 🤤 Chicken Wing 10pcs [$24], Pork Cubes [$15], Siew Yuk [$15], Calamari [$16], Smoked Duck Pizza [$24] Highly recommended the pork cubes & calamari! 😋

Ordered the Kronenbourg Blanc [$11/btl] & Kirin [$10/btl] during happy hour. Not really cheap for bottle beer, if they served by pint still reasonable.

Selected 1-1 promotion for bottles on ladies night.

All prices are NETT. If you have DBS CC, there's a 10% discount

Nasi lemak mist be affordable or provide ingredients to make it restaurant quality. Thankfully, it is 1 - 1.

house made fresh potato chips with vanilla bean ice cream, drizzled with salted caramel sauce. sinfully addictive if you are a potato chips and ice cream lover, though the salted caramel can be a tad too rich and sweet. potato chips were really thin and crispy yet non-oily! will be even better if the chips are slightly salted to have the contrasting sweet and salted taste!

chunks of lobster in tobiko and miso mayo with cucumber and red radish, wrapped with sesame bun. really generous amount of lobster but wish that there was more tobiko! simply love the crunchiness it adds to the meal.
unfortunately shoestring fries were soggy and cold, due to the toasted sandwich that rested on top of them. thanks to entertainer app for the great savings!
