Modernised home cooked food, prolly inspired by mama/grandma’s cooking. Decent pricing and Waiter took time to walk through the menu. Awesome service!

My only regret was not having enough tummy space to fit four of these scrumptious babies in me.
It was so sinfully-delicious; a flavourful pork patty sandwiched between two thin slices of bread and pan fried (?) till an even colour is achieved, then drizzled with chilli mayo!
Do yourself a favour and get this as a side. You may be too full to talk properly after the meal but it’s worth it!

The secret to this mouthwatering, lip-smacking, dopamine-inducing dish is.. the fluffy milk bread and the juicy (not to mention THICC) spam.
Doesn’t look like it’s a filling dish, but trust me, the meaty spam is enough to fill you up.
But if you’re brave and if you’re dying for another plate of these babies, go ahead and order another one for yourself. It’s worth it.

This cosy eatery in Damansara Jaya is popular for one thing – the signature House Rice Bowl (RM17.90). Burppler Sunita S akins this wholesome bowl to a "warm hug" – think crispy chicken thigh, sous-vide egg, pickled cucumbers and ginger scallion drizzled with housemade chilli mayo on rice. Go big with the Go All Out bowl (RM25.90) with additional juicy pork belly. Ps. They've recently added a scrumptious Market Vegetable Bowl (RM18) to the menu, with charred broccoli and mushrooms on seaweed butter rice. Yum!

A decent amount of rice bowl topped with soft and tender pork belly, pork glaze, onsen egg, homemade pickles and greens. I love how succulent the pork is and the melt in your mouth fats goes well with the rice. Wish there was more sauce to go with. Top up RM8 for flat white. RM23 per serving.

The famed rice bowl from Li. I must say this was definitely praise-worthy. Chicken thigh was very well seasoned and packed full of flavour. Especially enjoyed the pickled cucumbers!

It might sound pricey for just a veggie bowl but there are a lot of components that make it – from the butter slicked in housemade seaweed butter to the perfectly charred broccoli and mushrooms and the sous-vide egg. It’s such a flavourful dish!

A new addition to the menu.
It sounded simple, but boy was the taste anything but simple. Every single element in the bowl was executed perfectly. Flavourful seaweed rice, wonderfully marinated vegetables (broccoli was the star of the show!), wobbly soft egg and I can go on and on about the spicy chilli sauce! Can’t wait for my next trip to Li’s so that I can taste it all over again.

I’ve had this rice bowl way too many times, but this it probably the only picture I have of it lol. My go-to whenever I’m here. Reminds me a whole lot of chicken rice; juicy brined chicken atop fluffy rice and drizzled with a dash of chilli mayo, and on the side, pickled cucumbers and a perfect egg. Happiness in a bowl.

A new addition to the dinner menu, and it’s immediately become one of my must-have dishes on a visit to Li. Charred broccoli sits atop a bed of broccoli purée, and is topped with almond flakes, cayenne pepper and micro greens.

Housemade sourdough (RM3) with sous vide kaya (RM2). Or you can choose to have it with butter (RM2) too. The bread was chewy and had a tangy flavour. One of the better sourdough out there. Kaya, though fragrant but was on the sweeter side.

Li’s stellar take on local grub is not to be missed – think classics like chicken rice and kaya toast, elevated with modern techniques. The community loves the House Rice Bowl (RM17.90), a combination of steamed rice with crispy chicken, sous-vide egg and chilli mayo. In Burppler Sunita S's words, 'it's engineered like a warm hug'. Another crowd-pleaser is the crunchy Pork Toast (RM9.90), which works as a great snack if you're feeling extra hungry. Baked goods are also up for grabs at the counter – snag the wonderfully fluffy Sourdough Loaf (RM10) and a jar of sous vide Kaya (RM7.90) to enjoy at home.

To be honest, I’d be happy to sit and eat a jar of Li’s kaya with just a big old spoon. But when it comes wrapped in light and buttery sourdough croissants (sourced from Dew, Bangsar), how can I say no? If you want to get your hands on one - or five - of these Sourdough Kaya Croissants (RM12), you’ll have to mark your calendars as these are only available on weekends!

Li’s House Rice Bowl (RM17.90) is culinarily engineered to feel like a warm hug in the form of steamed rice, topped with a generous portion of crispy chicken, served with a sous-vide soft egg and a drizzle of chilli mayo. If you’re feeling carnivorous, add on a side of pulled pork (RM4).

Ordering the Pork Toast (RM9.90) is a no-brainer for me whenever I come to Li. Crunchy sourdough toast, a sinfully porky topping with a drizzle of chilli mayo on top makes this the perfect starter or accompaniment to your main meal.

Hello, guilty pleasure! It’s hard to resist ordering another plate of this once you bite into the extremely crunchy, spicy and oily (in all the good ways) pork toast. I’m happy to know they do half portions, which means less guilt and two deep-fried pieces just for me!

Visits between 12-2pm to weekdays means the rice bowls come in sets, at no extra cost. Expect a delicious side salad topped with toasty breadcrumbs to start, and unsweetened iced mint tea to wash down lunch.

Firm, savoury meat slabs rather reminiscent of Spam, yet much homier (and probably healthier). The moist chicken rice-esque chilli sauce helps enliven the dish with subtle heat and bright zest.

The egg’s key to Li’s rice bowls — the final touch that spills open to hold everything together in one luscious bite.

Pro tip: Unless you’re ready for a full-on food coma post lunch, ask for the half-portion!

We love desserts! And especially it is made with soy bean. When we got to know that the Li Damansara Jaya offers a Malaysian version of a panna cotta known as Soy Milk Panna cotta (RM10) that is inspired by the local favourites; tau foo fah! We immediately ordered it without an ounce of hesitation! It doesn’t take very long to wait for this Malaysian panna cotta to arrive for us to savour it. In terms of appearance wise, it’s presentation does looks somewhat similar to a Japanese Ikura chawanmushi just that it is a the cold version of it.. Portion wise is quite small and just suitable for 1 person to enjoy it but it does have a vibrant color that pops from the pineapple jam and it was being surrounded with a pool of sweet and sugary sauce of Gula Melaka and transparent pearls of Sago! The moment we dived in the bowl of it and we can felt it through our spoons on how delicate, silky smooth yet firm the texture of their panna cotta! It was abit jiggly but the moment we had it, it was truly electrifying as the texture was really smooth and silky and it immediately sprang to us that they achieved the consistency of a Tau foo fah with the soy milk panna cotta and the sweetness of the Gula Melaka helps the panna cotta to have a slight dash of palm tree sweetness to it without being too overly sweet or over powering and the pineapple jam was really smooth, with a hint of natural sweetness from the pineapples alongside the sourish acidity from the pineapple fruit itself! It was really a heavenly combination of bubbly and silky smooth texture together with the sweet and sourish taste from the toppings! Loved it!

This port toast never failed me, crispy on the outside wth every bite of crunch, yummmmm 🤤
